For the third season running, Arsenal and Hull City meet in the FA Cup, with the teams having clashed in the 2014 final before being paired together in the third round last season.

This tie hardly comes at an ideal time for either side. The Gunners have the small matter of Barcelona on Tuesday night and then a trip to Old Trafford the following Sunday.

Similarly, Hull entertained Brighton on Tuesday night and this match at the Emirates is book-ended by Tuesday’s trip to Portman Road.

Hull might have overcome Bury in the last round although this is probably where the story ends in the FA Cup and Steve Bruce will rest some of his key players for Saturday’s clash.

Arsene Wenger will also be rotating the squad and we should see Theo Walcott, Joel Campbell, Mathieu Flamini and potentially Danny Welbeck at the weekend.

Wenger will be delighted he’s getting some key players back at this time of the season when his side are competing on three fronts.

Quite simply, Arsenal’s strength in depth is greater than their Championship opponents although Hull have won seven of their last eight matches and they are scoring plenty of goals.

The Gunners beat Burnley 2-1 in the last round and a similar scoreline could be on the cards, with the weakened teams set to play an open match of football which will see the holders progress.
