Tottenham don’t tend to lose many games. It’s only been the Wembley opener against Monaco which saw Spurs beaten, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side having started brightly in the Premier League and they won at CSKA Moscow in their last Champions League clash.

Tuesday’s match is made a little trickier due to the absence of Toby Alderweireld, with Eric Dier potentially playing centre-half alongside Jan Vertonghen for this clash, while Heung Min-Son is due to return to the starting line-up.

The bottom line is that a point would represent a decent outcome for Tottenham who are capable of keeping things tight as they did at Moscow. They then followed this up with a 2-0 victory against Manchester City and would rate a decent bet if they had a full-strength side.

However, a point would set them up nicely with two home matches left and they will spend a good deal of time attempting to quiet down their German opponents.

Bayer Leverkusen recently beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at the BayArena, although they did lose 2-1 away to Werder Bremen which means they sit tenth in the Bundesliga.

However, they have conceded just one goal in their three home games and it was uncharacteristic that they led 2-0 against CSKA before conceding two goals to the Russians.

We should expect this one to be a good deal more cagey, with two goals or less on the cards.
