The Sky Bet Championship is a curious place. Take Charlton Athletic who were without a win in twelve matches, although the past couple of games have seen the Addicks claim victories over Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham.

Both of these opponents are having pretty good seasons, so there are signs that Karel Fraeye is getting things right at The Valley, with a 3-1 win against the Owls followed by a 1-0 triumph at St Andrews.

Ipswich arrive as strong favourites to win the game, although the Tractor Boys have only claimed a maximum haul in three of eight away encounters, with Mick McCarthy’s side struggling for consistency along the way.

Town recently demolished Rotherham 5-2 at the New York Stadium, although this was followed by a 2-2 draw against Wolves which will encourage Charlton that goals can be scored against the visitors.

Johnnie Jackson has been particularly influential when it comes to ending the Addicks’ goal drought, with the midfielder scoring in his past two matches and perhaps he can drive his team to another victory.

At odds of nearly 3/1, we can certainly take a punt on the home side considering that Ipswich have shipped more away goals than any other team in the Championship barring Bolton Wanderers.
