Colchester might be propping up the rest of the teams in League One although the U’s have scrambled through to round four of the FA Cup and landed a plum tie.

The BT Sport cameras will be at the Weston Homes Community Stadium hoping to capture an upset and the good news for Colchester is that Tottenham will not be at full-strength for this clash.

The Spurs squad have spent the past few days in Barcelona and the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli will be sitting on the bench in Essex, with Mauricio Pochettino thinking about Tuesday’s clash at Carrow Road.

However, the team he does pick will be similar to the side that won 2-0 at Leicester ten days ago, with Heung-Min Son and Nacer Chadli finding the net against a weakened Foxes side.

Indeed, it’s not a bad second string team, with Tom Carroll and Nabil Bentaleb among those set to feature against opponents who are likely to be playing League Two football next term.

This is a money-spinning clash for Colchester who will hope to raise their game and then kick on from the tie to try and preserve their League One status.

However, the U’s have been losing matches all season and ten of their last fourteen matches have ended in defeat.

A 3-0 beating at Scunthorpe happened last weekend and Kevin Keen’s side will fall short of the required quality here, even if they did beat Charlton in the previous round.
