It’s fourth versus first in front of the BT Sport cameras on Sunday lunchtime, with Cheltenham hoping to strengthen their automatic promotion claims by winning on the south coast.

Gary Johnson has got the Robins into a strong position as we approach the business end of the season. 60 points from 28 games played is a breath-taking total and they have shaken off several rivals in the process.

Cheltenham have won eight of their fourteen matches on the road this term and the reverse at Altrincham earlier in the season remains the only time they have suffered defeat.

There’s also the fact that the first-team players have had something of a winter break, with a fortnight’s gap between a goalless draw at Boreham Wood and this fixture, although Dover represent tricky opponents.

The Whites are one of the surprise packages of the division, having finished eighth last season and they sit fourth in the table with a strong chance of landing a play-off spot.

The last two league matches have been goal-filled affairs, losing 3-2 at home to Bromley before winning by an identical scoreline against Lincoln. Indeed, the two teams played out an entertaining 3-2 match at World of Smiles Stadium earlier this term which saw Cheltenham rally from two goals down.

Dan Holman is in line to make his Cheltenham debut on Sunday, with the striker having recently arrived from Woking and it could be a three-pronged attack alongside Danny Wright and Billy Waters.

One just feels as though Cheltenham are a superior team to Dover and the extra firepower of Holman should help the visitors over the line in this game.
