Jurgen Klopp has had plenty to say about the fixture scheduling for this Merseyside derby, with Liverpool having a short timeframe to recover from a 3-0 Champions League win against Manchester City.

The German might be annoyed by the timing of this game, although the Reds have a healthy ten-point gap over fifth-placed Chelsea at this stage of the season and a derby defeat would be entirely forgivable given the circumstances.

Liverpool supporters are excited about the prospecting of challenging for the European Cup and Mo Salah will almost certainly not be featuring in this match, having pulled a groin muscle during the recent City encounter.

It’s possible that Sadio Mane will also be given a rest for this clash, with Gini Wijnaldum, Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke also potentially coming into the Reds team considering that Liverpool will need to be on their toes at the Etihad.

Everton couldn’t be playing this fixture at a better time and the Toffees have done well at Anfield this season, drawing 1-1 in the Premier League and narrowly losing an FA Cup clash by a 2-1 scoreline.

The Blues were too meek against Manchester City last weekend although there will be a steelier side to them this time around and it’s a major bonus not to be facing Salah.

Everton had won their three home matches previously to the City clash and we’re happy to be with them on the Asian Handicap market.
