Betting Tip: Hull City #1-0 @ 5/1 with williamhill

Steve Bruce has achieved automatic promotion to the Premier League with Hull City before and it looks like a case of history repeating this season.

The club owners were patient with their manager after suffering relegation last term and it appears that continuity is a good thing, with Bruce having steered the Tigers into top spot with fourteen matches remaining.

The KC Stadium has been something of a fortress this term, with Derby County the only away side to claim victory there and eleven wins have set the tone for this powerful promotion charge.

Tuesday night’s 1-0 win at Ipswich demonstrate what Hull are all about. Resolute in defence thanks to Curtis Davies and Michael Dawson in tandem, while there is creative talent coming from Sam Clucas and Robert Snodgrass. Then you have the box-to-box power of Mohamed Diame and it was the midfielder that added the winning touch at Portman Road.

Sheffield Wednesday are also challenging for promotion and they sit fifth in the table, although the Owls’ form at Hillsborough is in stark contrast to away from home where there have been just four wins in sixteen games.

Wednesday drew a blank at Preston last weekend and perhaps the same will apply in this game, with Hull having conceded a miserly six goals at home all term.

A 1-0 victory should be enough to get over the line for the Tigers as they continue their promotion charge.
