Betting Tip: Little Prairie @ 7/2 with coral

The other filly worth an interest is Hughie Morrison’s LITTLE PRAIRIE when she runs in the 7f conditions stakes run later on the card (3.50pm). She faces just four rivals, but they include representatives from the yards of John Gosden and Charlie Appleby, Vibe Queen and Risen Sun respectively, with the latter making her seasonal debut, and the year older Charlie Hills’ Queen Catrine, who has shown good form at a higher level and gets a 4lb allowance by virtue of the fact she hasn’t won a conditions race. Paul Cole’s Lyfka brings up the quintet.

With the Hills yard now finding its feet after a slow start to the season, his representative is greatly respected, but the selection is the value bet at the respective odds. Unraced at two, she made an eye-catching debut when finishing runner-up in a hot Newbury maiden won by Yasmeen, who franked the form when finishing second in a Listed contest at York, before proving that was no fluke when taking a Lingfield maiden against runners from some big Newmarket yards, making all to win by three lengths. A big filly with the scope to go on improving, she seems perfectly suited to 7f at this stage of her career and I’d expect Jim Crowley, who was on board last time, to give her another positive ride from the front.
