Leicester are top of the Premier League after seventeen games played, with the Foxes giving every indication they can challenge for the title this season.

Their credentials were tested at Goodison Park last weekend, although Claudio Ranieri’s side once again passed with flying colours as they claimed a 3-2 victory which suggests that they have strong claims of three points at Anfield.

Many thought that the absence of Robert Huth and Danny Drinkwater would have an adverse effect, although they served the match up to the Toffees, with Riyad Mahrez once again playing a starring role.

Mahrez will be heavily marked by Liverpool players, with Jurgen Klopp well aware of the danger posed by an Algerian player who could scoop the PFA Award come the end of the campaign.

Jamie Vardy is currently playing through pain although the striker will continue to operate up front until he picks up a fifth yellow card which will mean a suspension and a well-deserved rest.

The bottom line is that Leicester have won six and drawn three of their nine away games, with the Foxes scoring an average of more than two goals per game, although they do ship a few at the back too.

Liverpool have hit the buffers in recent weeks, having lost 3-0 at Watford after a 2-0 reverse at Newcastle and a 2-2 draw against West Brom. Klopp appears to be feeling the strain and the absence of Philippe Coutinho is robbing them of creative powers.

Perhaps Liverpool will respond to that lousy performance at Vicarage Road although the momentum is with the Foxes and they have to be supported at the odds.
