Hard to fancy either team to win Sunday’s Sky Sports-televised encounter.

Liverpool have been a mixed bag under Jurgen Klopp although it was a lot to ask for the German to take charge after a couple of months and improve matters significantly.

Klopp will still harbour hope that a top four spot can be achieved and victory in this derby would certainly propel the Reds in the right direction, with a 3-3 draw against Arsenal showing what is good and bad about Liverpool.

The high-octane start saw Pool twice take the lead but their defending was shambolic and there was the Olivier Giroud “sitter” in addition to the three goals conceded.

A tighter approach will be taken in this clash, with United likely to play a containing match too, with Louis van Gaal at a loss on how to strike the right balance between attack and defence.

Quite simply, the draw is the bet to have considering that a goalless draw could be on the cards as both sides will be afraid to lose the encounter.

Liverpool are missing key personnel such as Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge, while Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel are also missing in central defence.

United will hope that captain Wayne Rooney can continue scoring after his brace at St James’ Park, with the Red Devils now unbeaten in the last four matches after a four-game losing streak.
