There’s an intriguing clash at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán on Wednesday night, with Manchester United heading to Spain as they hope to overcome Sevilla after 180 minutes of football.

Jose Mourinho has been heavily involved in the Champions League over the past fifteen years and, even when he spent a season out of it last term, he ended up winning the Europa League.

Whether he can repeat last season’s triumph with a success in the European Cup is another matter, with Sevilla likely to prove a tough obstacle before the prospect of facing an even more difficult opponent.

The bookies have United as strong favourites to overcome their Spanish opponents over two legs, with Mourinho’s men focussed on keeping things tight against a team who scored five goals against Liverpool during the group stage (but also conceded as many).

Sevilla have only lost once at home in La Liga all season and we’re reluctant to bet against them. Similarly, United are capable of keeping things tight and the recruitment of Alexis Sanchez does provide a cutting edge which could stand the visitors in good stead.

Therefore, we’ll go for the draw and it’s plausible that we could see a goalless draw. Sevilla won’t regard this as the worst outcome and going to Old Trafford without conceding an away goal will seem them well in the tie.
