Derby County briefly went top of the Championship last weekend after winning at the KC Stadium and will be looking for another big three points when they make the short journey to Hillsborough.

Paul Clement took just a handful of games to impose his methods on the Rams squad, with many of them arriving in the summer including Jacob Butterfield and Bradley Johnson.

Butterfield scored that all-important brace against Hull and looks to have settled into the team, while Johnson was suspended for that game but looks set to regain his place for what could be a close tussle against a Wednesday side who aren’t easily beaten at home.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side were beaten by Stoke in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night although they should prefer home comforts and boast a home record of five wins, three draws and a single defeat.

Wednesday have held Hull and Brighton to draws this season, so they are more than capable of keeping Derby at bay, with County having recently lost 1-0 at Nottingham Forest and they also drew 0-0 at Blackburn.

Indeed, Derby’s lofty position owes plenty to making the iPro something of a fortress after five straight wins for them and there has been some fortune when it comes to away victories at Reading and MK Dons.

Yes, this is one of the more impressive squads in the division and the defence is performing very well, although we think that a draw is a better option than either team to win.

Wednesday have won three of their last four home games, with Lucas Joao likely to remain in the team and the Portuguese forward has three goals in his past two league games, while Gary Hooper can also pose problems for the visitors.
