Betting Tip: AC Sparta Praha +1.00 @ 13/10 with bet365

It’s easy to dismiss Sparta Prague for tonight’s Europa League clash. After all, this is a team from the Czech Republic, hardly one of the strongest domestic leagues in Europe.

However, Sparta have a reasonable degree of experience when it comes to playing in Europe. They were only just edged out by CSKA Moscow in the Champions League play-offs last season and then overcame Thun in the Europa League play-offs.

At the group stage of the competition, Sparta then went unbeaten after winning three and drawing three including a 2-2 draw away to Schalke, with the Prague side reaching the quarter final stage after getting past Lazio before losing to Villarreal.

Therefore, this team have pedigree and the Saints do not. This match is an inconvenience for Claude Puel’s team who have collected just two points from their opening four matches in the Premier League.

Sunday’s clash against Swansea looms large in terms of importance and we’re likely to see a reserve team fielded for a competition which will be regarded as an unnecessary inconvenience while the side hover near the foot of the table.

It’s worth siding with Sparta in some shape or form and we can get some decent prices about the visitors on the handicap market.
