Tottenham have made a steady start to the season, although they have now won three games on the bounce and look a value proposition to make that four against their north London rivals.

After a defeat and three draws, supporters were wondering if a season of mediocrity was on the cards, although Spurs have pretty much been the better team in all of their games thus far.

Defensively, there was only the 2-2 draw against Stoke where the rearguard didn’t fare too well and a hat-trick of clean sheets in the Premier League suggest that Arsenal can be held at bay on Wednesday.

Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are a pretty robust central defensive pairing and they will be facing an Arsenal side missing Gabriel Paulista and Santi Cazorla who both saw red at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

That London derby defeat will have taken a lot out of a Gunners team who haven’t quite caught fire this term, with Olivier Giroud likely to return to the attack for this clash.

We’re expecting a tighter-than-normal clash between these rivals, especially as Spurs are struggling to find penetration of their own and it has been well-documented that Harry Kane is without a goal for his club thus far.

However, Son Heung-min has enjoyed a fast start to life at White Hart Lane, while Dele Alli has established himself quickly as a first-team regular and will be out to prove himself in this mother of London derby clashes.
