There’s been a gamble on Tottenham Hotspur to win Saturday’s North London derby ever since Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by Swansea on Wednesday night.

It wasn’t just the defeat for the Gunners but also the injuries incurred, with Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny subsequently sidelined for Saturday’s crunch game and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also missing in action.

Alexis Sanchez is out of form, Olivier Giroud has started firing blanks. There’s not a lot to like about an Arsenal team which seems shorn of confidence and incapable of winning the title.

Tottenham were deservedly beaten at Upton Park although Spurs are rock solid at the Lane and recent matches on home soil have seen them beat Swansea, Fiorentina, Watford and Sunderland.

Dele Alli will surely start in this clash, with Kyle Walker and Danny Rose also set to return to the full-back positions and we should note that Spurs were the better team at the Emirates when the sides drew 1-1.

You might get the wounded lion effect with Arsenal although they look ripe for the taking and we’re happy to get against a Gunners side who could effectively bow out of the title race this weekend.
