Chris Coleman already has a blueprint for beating Belgium, with Wales enjoying victory against the Red Devils just over a year ago when landing a 1-0 winning scoreline.

No prizes for guessing the scorer on that particular evening, with Gareth Bale finding the winning touch and the Real Madrid man is joint-top scorer at Euro 2016 after scoring against England, Slovakia and Russia.

His presence in the Welsh team will always give the Celtic side a chance of winning a game. It was Bale’s cross from the left that saw Gareth McAuley turn the ball into the Northern Irish net on Saturday and he clearly makes things happen.

Therefore, while Hungary were largely pummelled by the Belgians, the presence of Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen in the midfield along with Bale will cause a few concerns for the opponents.

Belgium are, however, buzzing right now. Sunday’s game against the Hungarians saw them take an early lead, miss loads of good chances before putting their opponents away by the most emphatic scoreline of the tournament to date.

The 4-0 scoreline came about because Hungary had to take risks, although there was plenty to appreciate about the way that Eden Hazard purred and he’s surrounded by quality operators like Kevin de Bruyne, Axel Witsel and Dries Mertens.

Radja Nainggolan will look forward to clashing with the Welsh midfielders and there’s plenty to like about a defence featuring Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Vermaelen.

Ultimately, that class might tell over the course of ninety minutes. Wales can defend well but Ashley Williams has an issue with his shoulder and a modest amount of recovery time.

With Hazard in this sort of mood, he can turn the game in favour of the Belgians.
