Alan Pardew isn’t going to reinvent the wheel at West Brom and his first three games in charge of the Baggies have seen the Midlands side looking to make themselves hard to beat.

A goalless draw against Crystal Palace and a 1-0 defeat away to Swansea wasn’t a great result, although Wednesday’s 0-0 at Anfield was a welcome point and we can expect a similar approach when Manchester United visit on Sunday.

Albion supporters would be content with another point from this clash before easier matches against Stoke and Everton, with Pardew looking to recruit some firepower in January to help West Brom pull away from the drop zone.

Manchester United have exploded out of their traps in their past two away games against Arsenal and Watford, capitalising on defensive errors and then keeping their opponents at arm’s length.

However, they won’t find too much space behind the midfield or defence in this game and Paul Pogba sits out this match as part of his three-game suspension.

The Red Devils made heavy weather of beating Bournemouth and one suspects they could have problems breaking down the Albion defence, with United having failed to win four of their eight away games this term.

Ashley Young and Marcus Rashford are likely to come back into the team for this one, although West Brom have the drawing habit right now and that makes the best value.
