There was doom and gloom for West Ham supporters after a surprise Europa League exit at the hands of Romanian club Astra, with Slaven Bilic sending out a reserve team for the second leg match.

However, the game plan paid off at the Emirates with the Hammers claiming a surprise 2-0 win and the London side will now look to build upon that victory and enjoy a flying start to the season.

Dimitri Payet arrived at the Boleyn Ground with a reputation for being an assist machine and he put the ball on the head of Cheikhou Kouyate for West Ham’s opener against Arsenal, with defender Reece Oxford flourishing in midfield.

However, Leicester will arrive full of confidence after scoring four goals against Sunderland in their opening match and essentially carving the Black Cats defence apart at will.

Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki operated well in tandem, with Riyad Mahrez bagging a brace and Wes Morgan back in central defence earlier than anticipated.

It appears as though Claudio Ranieri has got the team clicking early and we’re happy to take a small punt on the Foxes to make it two wins from two.

We all know that the West Ham fans are a demanding bunch and expectation levels are high after defeating Arsenal, although the second half of last season under Sam Allardyce was woeful and perhaps traces of that form will continue to linger for a while yet.
