Leeds United v AFC Bournemouth – Cherries no value for Elland Road win

A share of the points is in prospect at Elland Road tonight

Bournemouth may be setting the Championship alight this season, however they have never triumphed at Elland Road and we don't expect this record to be broken when the sides meet on Tuesday evening.

Things are going so well for Bournemouth. A 2-0 away win at Rotherham on Saturday saw them further secure their top spot in the Championship and they will be in very high spirits when they make the journey to Elland Road for what promises to be an action packed encounter.

Indeed, the Cherries have suffered just one league defeat since late September, this hiccup coming at home to Norwich City earlier this month and they look set to maintain a prominent position throughout the rest of the season.

Bournemouth are involved in one of two Championship matches this evening due to their FA Cup match at Villa Park this weekend, therefore the south coast side have an opportunity to put some daylight between themselves and the rest of the chasing pack tonight.

Nevertheless, the Cherries have never avoided defeat at Elland Road and despite enjoying the highest position ever achieved in their history, we feel that they will become unstuck tonight.

Leeds aren’t exactly enjoying themselves this season however and they are sitting perilously close to the relegation places, therefore a win is an absolute necessity in this match. The Yorkshire side are without a league win since November and a turnaround is desperately needed should the club wish to avoid a return to the third tier of English football. They will struggle against a high flying Cherries side however and with their last two outings resulting in draws, a repeat of these results may be their best hope tonight.

Indeed, Bournemouth have been excellent on the road this season, however a best price of 3/4 for the side to clinch maximum points looks very short indeed, especially given their Elland Road record. This is an extremely close division this season and despite Eddie Howe’s side scoring for fun this season they will be mindful of their 3-1 home defeat to tonight’s opponents earlier in the season, a result which could suggest that the hosts could at the very least clinch a point tonight.
