The Gunners should return to winning ways in the top flight when they visit the West Midlands on Saturday afternoon.
Arsenal look too short at 10/11 to actually win on Saturday, however we’ll be expecting a goalfest at the Hawthorns when these sides clash.
Arsene Wenger’s side produced an impressive performance in their midweek Champions League clash with Bundesliga side Borussia with a place in the knockout stages their reward and they could well carry their form into this match.
There is no doubt that Arsenal are on a high at the moment with their FA Cup triumph and Champions League knockout qualification, this perhaps being their problem in the Premier League. The Gunners are happy to be involved at present and as such, expectations appear to have been lowered somewhat.
They trail league leaders Chelsea by some 15 points and despite reaching the last 16 of the Champions League they have struggled in the competition, losing to Dortmund in their opening match and throwing away a 3-0 lead at home to Anderlecht. It is unlikely they will reach the final of the competition, however they can turn their attention to the Premier League this weekend and the three valuable points which they are likely to receive.
The Gunners are rather underpriced at 10/11 to beat West Brom, taking into account their recent form in the top flight as well as the fact that they are only four points ahead of the Baggies in the league table. Also, Wenger’s side have only managed two wins away from the Emirates this season and a price just short of evens will tempt few punters.
Nevertheless can West Brom be trusted to keep the Gunners at bay? We argue that it is unlikely and we’re rather unsure about getting involved in any match betting, looking at other markets instead to get some value.
The Baggies have conceded twice in all but one of their last six games, picking up some points in exactly half of these. Therefore this would suggest that the hosts are looking at attack in preference to defensive play at the Hawthorns.
This is a tactic also used to effect by Arsenal. Despite keeping a clean sheet against Dortmund, they conceded nine goals in their previous three outings. We feel that West Brom can score against them on Saturday and both teams to score looks well priced to us at 4/5 with Bet365.
Coral are offering 10/11 for there to be over 2.5 goals, however a Gunners victory with both teams scoring looks a banker at 11/4 with William Hill.
Alexis Sanchez is certainly the biggest goal threat for the visitors, most bookies offering evens for him to hit the back of the net in this match. He has now scored eight goals in ten top flight games and four in five European matches. He is up for grabs at 6/4 with Betfair to get on the scoresheet on Saturday and 19/4 to break the deadlock.
