Alabama vs Auburn Odds 2022

The Auburn vs Alabama football odds for 2022 feature the Crimson Tide as favorites by 26.5 points. recommends using any of the big sportsbooks like FanDuel, Caesars, DraftKings, BetMGM, and others to bet on Alabama vs Auburn football odds.

Alabama vs. Auburn is the rivalry by which all others in college football are measured.

When Alabama and Auburn play, the game splits a state, divides families, often decides the SEC West and potentially has an impact on the national championship picture. The game is huge, inside and outside of Alabama, and in more ways than one.

And for bettors, it can be irresistible, given all that’s typically at stake. Like all college football lines, the number on an Alabama-Auburn game is set with the goal of driving action on both sides. But in a game of the magnitude of the Iron Bowl, the line can be influenced by public money — amateurs betting solely out of name recognition or favoritism.

That’s why sometimes in a big rivalry game, it behooves the bettor to be patient and wait for any moves that might swing the line more in the bettor’s favor. Savvy bettors also know that things like rivalries and home-field advantage don’t matter as much in college football as many think they do.

Despite a history that goes back to 1893, the Iron Bowl has featured relatively few upsets —t he famed “Kick Six” game of 2013 being a notable exception.

Alabama vs Auburn History

Auburn and Alabama first played in 1893, though the series would be suspended for 41 years due to disagreements between the schools. From 1904 through 1988 it was played exclusively at Legion Field in Birmingham, which Auburn fans believed benefitted the Crimson Tide.

The game wasn’t played at Auburn until 1989 and has rotated annually only since 1993. It has frequently decided the SEC West since the conference expanded in 1992.

Great Alabama-Auburn Games

The series is renowned for producing great games. In 1972 Auburn blocked two Alabama punts and returned both for touchdowns, rallying from 16-3 down to win and leaving Tigers fans chanting “Punt Bama Punt!”

In 1982, in the final game coached by Alabama’s Bear Bryant, Auburn’s Bo Jackson hurdled the defense to score a late touchdown that ended the Tide’s nine-game win streak in the rivalry.

But nothing matches 2013, when Alabama’s attempt at a winning field goal with a second left fell short in a tie game, and Auburn’s Chris Davis returned it for the “Kick Six” touchdown that capped one of the greatest finishes of all time.

Infamous Alabama-Auburn Moments

The series has also seen its share of infamous moments. Jackson ran the wrong way trying to block for a teammate on fourth-and-goal in 1984, allowing Alabama’s defense to seal a two-point victory. In 1997, Alabama’s Ed Scissum fumbled in the fourth quarter, setting up Auburn’s winning field goal with 20 seconds left.

And in 2010, Alabama led No. 2 Auburn 24-0 in Tuscaloosa, but fumbles by Mark Ingram and Greg McIlroy helped Auburn rally for a 28-27 victory.
