It’s the clash of the titans at the Nou Camp, with something having to give when Barcelona host Bayern Munich.

Barca are slight favourites to reach the final at odds of 11/8 although the Spanish league leaders will be wary of what lies in store when they head to the Allianz Arena for the second leg. Shakhtar and Porto have been demolished after positive first leg results and the Catalan side will want to make sure they have an advantage to take to Bavaria.

Sevilla are the only team to have stopped Barcelona winning in their past sixteen matches, with the last two matches seeing them thrash Cordoba and Getafe by scoring a combined total of fourteen goals without reply.

Luis Suarez filled his boots heavily in those matches with a combined total of five goals and his arrival from Liverpool appears to have given the attack an extra dimension and not as much reliance on Lionel Messi.

Nevertheless, Messi is back to his very best and it’s hard to see how Bayern are going to live with their opponents at the Nou Camp, with Pep Guardiola making a homecoming of sorts.

Guardiola won’t need a dossier on how his former club play, although a goalless draw away at Shakhtar followed by a 3-1 reverse in Portugal suggest that Bayern have a weak underbelly on the road, even if they can produce devastating football at the Allianz Arena.
