It was a poor night for the two Manchester clubs on Tuesday although Arsenal should fare better in their Champions League opener this evening.

The Gunners have made a modest start to their Premier League campaign, winning three, drawing one and losing one of their opening matches, with the London side now in Croatia to face a dangerous Dinamo team.

It’s often easy to assume that Arsenal will make their class tell in these sort of games, although Wenger continues to switch between Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott in attack, suggesting he hasn’t found the right balance.

Jack Wilshere’s absence from midfield robs the team of quality in that area, with Aaron Ramsey having been frustrating so far this campaign and an over-reliance on Alexis Sanchez to make things happen.

Per Mertesacker’s absence from the back four could also be telling in this match, with Dinamo not accustomed to losing matches on home soil and they have worked their way to the group stage by defeating three different teams.

Nevertheless, there should be a gulf in class between the two teams, with Mesut Ozil and Sanchez likely to cause several problems and the Dinamo manager admitted that his team could be up against it tonight.

‘I have watched Arsenal in many games,’ he said in a pre-match press conference. ‘I went to see them against Stoke this weekend and I got the impression they were playing in second or third gear, and should have won 10-0!

Perhaps Zagreb can give a good account of themselves although we’re happy to side with the visitors on the handicap market, with Arsenal the sort of team capable of scoring several goals when they’re in the mood.
