Toffees to tame weak Canaries team

Betting Tip: Everton -1.00 @ 7/4 with bet365

Everton played a pretty strong team when winning at Reading in the previous round of the Capital One Cup, with Roberto Martinez clearly valuing this competition as a way to achieve some much-needed silverware at Goodison Park.

We can expect the Toffees to be strong for the visit of Norwich, with Phil Jagielka and Gareth Barry the only players definitely out of the match after injury and suspension put paid to their prospects.

Everton don’t have a match until Sunday so we could see Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku and Gerard Deulofeu, although there are other options such as Kevin Mirallas, Arouna Kone and Steven Naismith.

As for Norwich, they seem to be struggling and several first-team players will be given the night off for this match, with the Canaries having lost at home to West Brom on Saturday.

Alex Neil has hinted this is a match where fringe players can try and stake a claim for a first team spot, with Saturday’s trip to Manchester City of far greater importance than this game.

So we’ll go all-in on Everton to claim a straightforward win in this one. The Toffees could rack up a few goals, with Kone and Naismith out to prove that they merit more first-team football.
