You don’t get many Belgian sides featuring in the knockout stage of the Champions League, although K.A.A. Gent overcame Valencia and Lyon to make it through to the last sixteen.

Hein Vanhaezebrouck will now attempt to engineer a two legged victory against a Wolfsburg side who look vulnerable despite winning Manchester United’s Champions League group.

Gent are the outsiders for the match at the Ghelamco Arena, with money starting to come for the Belgian champions as people cotton on to the fact that they are playing a team who have been woeful on the road this term.

On the flip side, Gent have experienced just one defeat at home in the league, with the team winning two and drawing one of their home games during the group stage.

As for Wolfsburg, they won four and lost two of their group games to top their section. However, they were soundly beaten at Man United and PSV before claiming victory against a CSKA Moscow side who were already out.

One win from ten away games in the Bundesliga tells its own story and the last three matches on the road have ended in defeat.

The argument is strong for a home win and we’re happy to take Gent on the WDW market rather than any handicap bet.
