The most surprise player omission for the 2018 World Cup is clearly Leroy Sane, with football fans in England, Germany and several other countries expecting to see the Manchester City star not only make the Die Mannschaft squad but probably start this game.

However, manager Joachim Low has seen fit to leave out the talented winger and we’re now likely to see Marco Reus and Thomas Muller out wide, with Mesut Ozil featuring in central midfield and Timo Werner as the fox racing into the box.

Germany are the world champions and they are likely to have Sami Khedira and Toni Kroos in the engine room, with Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng operating in central defence.

Manuel Neuer is back between the sticks and it’s a formidable team, although there is an issue over Boateng’s fitness and Germany are without a win in their past five friendly matches, with Austria running out 2-1 winners recently.

Mexico will have noted their opponents’ wobbly form and Los Tri might consider this a good time to be facing the Group F favourites, with the men in green having reached the last sixteen stage of the past few tournaments.

The Mexicans finished top of the CONCACAF standings, with the team likely to go out and trouble their illustrious opponents and the 5/2 about Germany winning and both teams scoring can’t be ignored.

The teams met in the Confederations Cup last summer and Germany were fast out of the traps, with the European side taken to win the match by a 3-1 scoreline this time around.
