A 2-0 away win at Brighton, a 1-1 home draw against Everton and a 2-1 victory at Bournemouth suggested that Manchester City were still finding their feet at the beginning of the season, although a 5-0 triumph over Liverpool really kick-started the campaign.

Since that result, the goals have been flowing, with Feyenoord, Watford and Crystal Palace put to the sword, while City also enjoyed a 2-1 EFL Cup win away to West Brom when Pep Guardiola rotated his squad.

The team are in great shape and should have too much for a Shakhtar side who claimed a 2-1 win over Napoli in their Champions League group opener, with the Ukrainian side having less shots on target than their Italian opponents but finding a way to win.

Shakhtar are a decent side who sit top of their own domestic division and they’ve only dropped five points in ten games played, although this represents a tough assignment for them.

Sergio Aguero has the goalscoring bit between his teeth, while Raheem Sterling is finally starting to realise his potential at the Etihad and Kevin de Bruyne remains a supreme playmaker who is pulling the strings as his team scores bucktloads of goals.

Perhaps they might not run riot in this clash, although it’s worth noting that the defence is looking pretty strong this season and they’ve kept four consecutive clean sheets if you ignore that EFL Cup win where a second string side was largely employed.

BetVictor free bets have an attractive 5/4 about City winning and keeping a clean sheet, something they managed to do away to Feyenoord in their opening game and it’s clear that full-backs Mendy and Walker are helping them operate in a more robust fashion.
