While France and Switzerland battle it out for top spot in Group A, there’s the small matter of third place that is up for grabs.

A victory for Romania would guarantee a place in the past sixteen and potentially second place depending on the outcome of the other match.

A draw would suit neither team considering they probably need a minimum of three points to go through, so we might see a more open game than either have served up thus far.

Both sides will have looked at their three fixtures and pinpointed this game as the one where they can win and go through to the last sixteen.

Albania might be pointless for this match but they haven’t been overrun by either side they have faced. Losing Lorik Cana early against Switzerland put paid to their chances, while a 2-0 reverse against France doesn’t tell the story of how the underdogs stuck to their guns until being sunk late on.

Therefore, we’re going to give them a chance against a Romania side who were just beaten by France themselves before a 1-1 draw with Switzerland.

There is clearly little between the sides and perhaps the Albanians amazing team spirit and support can help them over the line and into the last sixteen where they could face England, Wales, Germany or Poland.
