Celtic Park will be jumping on Thursday night as the Tartan Army aim to propel their hard-working and gutsy team to a famous victory which would probably give them a major shout when it comes to playing at Euro 2016 next summer.

Scotland have to be given a chance in this contest when you consider they ran Germany close in a recent qualifier in Glasgow, narrowly losing 3-2 and coming from behind twice to demonstrate tremendous character in the team.

Gordon Strachan’s side have also taken four points from the Republic of Ireland and they did come away from Warsaw with a 2-2 draw, which saw Robert Lewandowski kept quiet throughout the ninety minutes.

However, the Bayern Munich striker is in seriously hot form at the moment, with the 27-year-old unbelievably scoring twelve goals in his team’s last four matches.

Lewandowski has also managed ten goals for Poland during Euro 2016 qualification although this should probably be tempered by the fact that nine of these were against either Georgia or whipping boys Gibraltar.

The bookies can’t split the two teams and it might instead pay to look away from the match odds and go for a high-scoring encounter such as the Germany game, with Scotland determined to go hell for leather.

Poland have scored a ridiculous number of goals in qualifying, with 29 plundered in eight games and we saw the sides share four in the reverse fixture.

If the Poles go in front, then some risks need to be made by Scotland and that could see a wide open game.
