Twelve games played and Southampton fans might have expected their team to have more than thirteen points on the board. The Saints have played seven matches at home and their fixtures haven’t exactly been difficult.

Mauricio Pellegrino is among the favourites on the Sack Race market, with the Spaniard’s cautious approach not making much appeal to supporters nor is it proving particularly effective.

At odds-on, the Saints need to be swerved considering they have won just two of their seven matches and they are scoring less than one goal per home match.

Shane Long is yet to score all season, with Manolo Gabbiadini and Charlie Austin overlooked by the manager at Anfield, while there’s not a lot to get excited about behind them and Nathan Redmond is struggling to make an impact.

Everton aren’t anything to write home about, with David Unsworth turning the Toffees into the sort of attack dogs that did Joe Royle proud back in the 1990’s.

The Merseyside team were tenacious in the tackle at Selhurst Park when landing a 2-2 draw and it should be noted that they had the character to come from two goals down against an attacking team.

There is quality in the ranks and Gylfi Sigurdsson is a class act with the sort of delivery that could nick things for Everton, although we’re not confident enough to back the visitors and instead will back them on the Asian Handicap at reasonable odds.
