What do West Brom, Southampton and Swansea City all have in common?

They have all failed to score at Vicarage Road this season and Crystal Palace needed a dubious penalty kick to get the better of a Hornets team who have learned the art of defending under Quique Flores.

Odds-on to be relegated before the season began, Watford have a creditable ten points on the board after eight games played and will have a game plan to try and nullify an Arsenal side who have scored eight goals in their past two matches.

Leicester paid the price for meeting fire with fire as the Gunners ran out 5-2 winners before Arsene Wenger’s team claimed a 3-0 victory against Manchester United thanks to a fast start which brought back memories of the Arsenal teams that used to win the title under the Frenchman.

Arsenal need Alexis Sanchez to be on song this season and the fact the Chilean has been busy scoring goals during the international break can be regarded as a good and bad thing. Wenger will be hoping fatigue doesn’t affect his star man on Saturday evening.

Watford are going to be robust defensively. A grand total of two goals have been scored in four matches at Vicarage Road. Etienne Capoue and Ben Watson are the hard-working midfielders that comprise the engine room, with Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo encouraged to track back.

Arsenal are also pretty mean defensively and we think they might have to settle for a slender margin of victory in this game. Theo Walcott has the pace to stretch the defence, with Mesut Ozil having the skill to unlock a mean defence.

We’ll stick with Under 2.5 Goals but also think the 1-0 Arsenal scoreline is worth backing in what should be a chess-like match on Saturday evening.
