Who will Frankie Dettori ride in the 1000 Guineas?

Frankie Dettori has four wins to date in the season’s first Classic, and it will be interesting to see who he might partner in next year’s renewal. Two of his four wins came when he was retained jockey for Godolphin, and although that association is no more, it would be no surprise to see him get a ride on some of the boys in blue’s talented fillies. There is also the chance that Frankie Dettori may team up with some of Aidan O’Brien’s outsiders, something seen to great effect with, Mother Earth, in 2021. Dettori’s recent split as the number one retained rider with John and Thady Gosden may mean he misses out on rides on some of Britain’s best fillies.

Who will Frankie Dettori ride in the 2000 Guineas?

The 2000 Guineas is one race in which Frankie Dettori doesn’t have a brilliant record. Again, two of his three wins came for Godolphin back in the 1990s, with his third coming for another former employer, Al Shaqab Racing, with Galileo Gold in 2016. Again, his split with the Gosdens will limit his choices, although there is nothing to say that, that relationship may be rekindled before the Classics come around. He is always likely to be a popular figure for trainers and sports betting fans alike. Keep an eye on this section for any updated info on who, or for whom, Dettori may ride.

Who will Frankie Dettori ride in the Derby?

Amazingly, Frankie Dettori has recorded just two victories in the prestigious Epsom Derby. Those two wins came on two of the greatest horses of their era in, Authorized and Golden Horn. Recently Dettori has picked up the ride on some of Aidan O’Brien’s less-fancied horses, but he has also ridden for the likes of Ed Dunlop, Ed Walker and Aidan’s son, Donnacha. He may not get a ride on one of the favourites in next season’s Derby but is likely to pick up a very interesting outside ride that could provide value at the best apps and new bookmakers.

Who will Frankie Dettori ride in the Oaks?

Frankie Dettori’s reconnection with trainer, John Gosden, resulted in the pair winning the 2019 Oaks with Anapurna. This was Dettori’s fifth win in the Epsom Classic, a tally he added to when winning his sixth with Snowfall in 2021. That was once again for O’Brien, so it could be that the trainer will turn to Dettori in next year’s renewal as well.

Dettori finished runner-up on Emily Upjohn in 2022 for the Gosdens, but given that it was his subsequent ride on the same horse at Royal Ascot that started the deterioration of their relationship, Gosden may not be on the phone to Frankie Dettori for this one.

Who will Frankie Dettori ride in the St Leger?

Logician’s 2019 victory was Dettori’s first win in 11 years in the final Classic of the season. Again, that was for the Gosdens, so Dettori may have to look elsewhere to grab a seventh victory in the Doncaster showpiece. Aidan O’Brien will surely have an option, but there are plenty of other trainers who could turn to Dettori, including Sir Michael Stoute, for whom he teamed up with to win the 2008 renewal with Conduit.

Who will Frankie Dettori ride in the Arc De Triomphe?

The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is a race that has become synonymous with Frankie Dettori, with the Italian holding the all-time record of six wins in the world-famous race. The last two of these came aboard the brilliant filly, Enable, for John Gosden in 2017 and 2018. Dettori is never short of offers from trainers around the world when it comes to the Arc, and it would be no surprise to see him pick up a ride on one of the French home contingent, or for one of the likely Japanese or Hong Kong-based raiders. Either way, it would be a good idea to keep an eye on prices on betting apps for any of his rides in the Arc.

Who will Frankie Dettori ride in the Breeders’ Cup?

The Breeders’ Cup is another meeting where Frankie Dettori will be in high demand. Dettori has a brilliant record at the US meeting, particularly in the Breeders’ Cup Turf, which he last won with the aforementioned, Enable, back in 2018. Dettori usually gets his fair share of bookings from Aidan O’Brien’s large string for the Breeders’ Cup, but he also has a good connection with leading American trainer, Wesley Ward, so he should have some great rides available to him should you be interested in Breeders' Cup betting.

Who will Frankie Dettori ride at Royal Ascot?

2022’s Royal Ascot meeting proved to be one to forget for Frankie Dettori. After some questionable rides on the likes of Emily Upjohn and Stradivarius. John Gosden publicly questioned Dettori’s performances, leading to the break-up of their successful reunion. Gosden may not back Dettori at next year’s Royal meeting, but given his brilliant ability to ride the track at Ascot, he will never be short of trainers hoping to book him on their horses.

It is also another meeting at which Dettori has picked up rides for foreign trainers. Keep checking this page for confirmed Frankie Dettori bookings and their prices at the best betting sites for Royal Ascot, as well as all of the aforementioned big races.

Frankie Dettori Biography

Lanfranco Dettori was born on the 15th December 1970 in Milan, Italy, and is better known as Frankie. Dettori’s father was a very successful jockey in his homeland, but Dettori Jr. surpassed his old man’s achievements and then some.

Frankie Dettori made the brave decision to move to Britain’s flat racing HQ, Newmarket, at the tender age of 15, teaming up with fellow Italian trainer Luca Cumani. His obvious talent led him to become Cumani’s first-choice jockey not long after.

In 1993, Dettori landed the job of number one jockey for the world-renowned Godolphin setup, which was still in its infancy. Fast forward 18 years, and after massive Group 1 success around the world, Dettori and Godolphin ended their partnership.

Of course, you cannot talk about the flamboyant Dettori without mentioning his record-breaking seven-timer at Ascot in 1996. Dettori went through the card that day, instantly becoming a huge name in the sports betting industry around the world.

That was probably his first taste of celebrity status, and he continued to make a successful transition into the mainstream media, with TV appearances on the likes of ‘A Question of Sport’ and ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.

In 2004, Dettori was involved in a plane crash in which the pilot of the light aircraft died. Dettori was extremely lucky to survive, and he managed to work his way back to fitness and continue riding at the highest level across the world.

Dettori eventually became retained rider for Al Shaqab racing in 2013, but after a successful period, the combination parted company in 2018, with the owners announcing they would be concentrating their setup in French racing.

This, again, meant Dettori would have to go freelance, but with most trainers and owners having retained riders at the time, it was hard to get a look in when it came to getting rides on the top horses of the time.

It was a reunion with an old supporter, John Gosden, that eventually got Dettori back to the top table, but that partnership also ended in a public spat at Royal Ascot in 2022 after Gosden had questioned some of Dettori’s rides on his horses at the meeting.

Dettori has had an incredible career to date. The master of the ‘flying dismount’ has been champion jockey in Britain on three occasions and has won over 500 Group races. He has amassed 21 Classic wins and holds the record for the most ‘Arc’ wins with six. It has been a wild but immensely successful career, and there are no signs of him slowing down just yet.
