She’s yet to win a handicap but is slowly getting there, with form of 73423 across her five attempts. She was was very close in those two most recent efforts at a grade higher than today. Her mark is a very manageable 102, and this could be her time to shine.

Tip 2 - 3:38 Ayr - Misunderstood

MIsunderstood seems an apt name for David O’Meara’s four-year-old. Won on debut then won a Group 3 on second start before a two-length third in a Group 1. He’s gone 0-17 since those opening two victories and is now racing in Class 4s. Had a couple of near misses on softer ground in recent times, with the winner of his second at Thirsk earlier this month going in again since to confirm the form. He’s surely got to win again in this company sooner or later, and he should be dangerous on heavy ground even from topweight.

Tip 3 - 4:15 Sedgefield - Jet Of Dreams

Jet Of Dreams probably needed the run after some time off following a wind op, so that made it surprising the handicapper decided to drop him 5lb for that run. However, that does put him back on the mark he held when winning this race last year, again with James Bowen on board. This race looks like a long-term plan, and there doesn’t appear to be a superstar in opposition for him to contend with.

What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
