Tip 1 - 2:00 Newcastle - Constitution Hill

The most intriguing race of the weekend, is Constitution Hill still the horse he was? If he is anywhere near his best, and the vibes suggest he is, then he will be very tough to beat. The New Lion needs to step up massively from what he has done and Azadam is here because he isn’t as good as Lossiemouth who Constitution Hill has already beaten easily in his career. This could be a stepping stone to getting the Champion Hurdle crown back.

Tip 2 - 2:15 Newbury - Live Conti

Live Conti showed plenty of promise in his first season. He won on debut in France before switching to the Skelton yard and winning in fine fashion at Wetherby all before he turned four. Then went to Aintree and finished behind only Murcia in the Grade 1 Juvenile Hurdle. Drops down in class for this handicap hurdle and is likely to take plenty of beating if continuing the progress from last season.

Tip 3 - 2:55 Newbury - Myretown

Myretown couldn’t have been any more impressive when he romped home at the Cheltenham Festival last March. He even looked like he was holding a bit back for himself. 15lb is a massive hike in rating but he deserved at least that winning a major handicap by that far. What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time. 

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
