Tip 2 - 1:35 Haydock - Looka

Looka appeared to be a decent prospect last year after going straight into a Group 3 after a second time out win at Kempton on the all-weather. Was fifth of six but certainly not disgraced that day, losing by only six lengths. All four ahead that day are now rated in the 100s. Ran well last time out at Salisbury and comes into a Class 2 from a rating of 93, which looks more than manageable.

Tip 3 - 3:50 Market Rasen - Sure Touch

A course-and-distance winner last October, Sure Touch has gone reasonably since then, but it’s telling that he’s back down in trip after his two most recent goes were over 3m. What is the Staking Plan and How Does a 1pt Win System Work?

We advise each bet as a win single or sometimes as an each way single. You can of course choose to combine the selections in a multiple bet, a Lucky 15 or a Yankee etc and that is a very popular way to follow the horses selected in this column daily.

A 1pt win per horse is advised in general and that means whatever your normal stake is for a bet is used as a point. For many this is £1 and for some this is £10 or more but it is totally relative to the individual and shouldn’t be more than you can afford to lose at any time.

For each way selections we advise a 0.5pt each way stake. So as with the win selections this would be a £1 total bet (50 pence each way) or a £10 total bet (£5 each way).
