Alberta is getting ready for a very exciting launch: regulated online casinos are coming to the province on July 13th! Rather than playing at gray market sites, or sticking with the one licensed site (PlayAlberta), you’ll now be able to choose from dozens of fantastic Alberta online casinos.

All of the biggest names in the online casino business have already applied for their licenses, so you can expect sites like DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM to launch in Alberta on 13th July. We’ve got a full list of online casinos launching in Alberta, and if you want to get ahead, some of these sites are already accepting pre-registration. We’re about to tell you exactly how you can get involved.

TL;DR - Alberta Casinos Pre-Registration

  • 35 online casinos have applied for licenses in Alberta.
  • A number of sites like Caesars and DraftKings are accepting pre-registrations.
  • If you pre-register, you’ll be notified when you can start playing.

What does it mean to be registered for the Alberta Launch?

At the time of writing, 35 online casino operators have already applied for their Alberta licenses and we’re happy to report that all of the top online gambling sites are amongst them. You might be familiar with some of these names, as they might be operating in Alberta at the moment, usually under the licenses from the Malta Gaming Authority.

We’ve put together a list of some of the sites we’re most looking forward to seeing and we expect this list to keep growing as we get closer to the launch date for regulated casino sites. We expect the sites on our list to offer an excellent range of games including slots, table games and live dealer options.

Some will also launch their sports betting product at the same time, so you can enjoy all of your online gambling in one place with a casino and sports betting sites in Alberta. In addition to a great game variety, you can expect a mobile-friendly experience on Alberta betting apps, secure payment methods and of course a strong focus on responsible gambling.

How To Pre-register For Alberta Online Casinos?

Each online casino in Alberta has a slightly different process for pre-registration, but in general it’s not too different from signing up for an account at a grey market casino, or a regulated site in Ontario.

The first thing to do is check out our list on this page at Bookies.com, then click on one of our links to go to the casino’s site and start the pre-registration process.

You’ll usually need to select Alberta as your province, then enter details like your email address, password and mobile number. Next, add your name, date of birth and street address and go through the account verification process by uploading your ID and proof of address.

Once you’ve finished the whole process, you can simply sit back and wait for the 13th of July. You’ll be notified via email when the site has fully launched, so that you can log in, make your first deposit and start playing.

Online casinos and sports betting sites that have applied for licenses in Alberta won’t accept deposits or allow you to play until the regulation comes into full effect on July 13th, but in the meantime you can get ahead by pre-registering. When you do this, you’ll be first in line to play once the site has launched.

Should You Pre-register or Wait For The Launch On July 13th?

There’s no real downside to pre-registering for your account at a regulated Alberta online casino site or on an Alberta casino app. While you won’t be able to deposit or withdraw until the new rules go live, if you pre-register, you’ll be the first to know when it’s time to log in for the first time and start enjoying all of the games.

If you wait until July 13th, you’ll still have the same great experience with all of the games, including slots, table games and live dealer options. Just keep in mind that it’s likely the site will be very busy on the 13th, so there’s a chance of tech glitches or delays, plus you’ll have to go through the account verification process on that day.
