There truly is nothing quite like the NBA trade deadline. No sport sees the kind of activity with some of the biggest names in the league like the NBA. And though not much may come of this year’s deadline—Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. ET—it’s been a long time since we’ve seen these types of names on the potential trading block. It should set up for plenty of drama over the next few days.

And for good reason. The NBA is as wide open as we can ever remember it. The favorites to win the NBA title, the Brooklyn Nets, are currently slated to play in the East’s Play-in Tournament! So are LeBron James’ Lakers. The parity around the league is remarkable right now, and that could make for a wild trade deadline.

It started Tuesday with the Pelicans and Blazers agreeing to a trade involving C.J. McCollum, and the Kings acquiring Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis in exchange for a package centered around young guard Tyrese Haliburton.

Bookies.com premier oddsmaker Adam Thompson has created some projected NBA odds after analyzing the NBA betting landscape and considering each team’s current and long-term needs.

Here are projected odds on where each player will be after the trade deadline passes.

Ben Simmons Next Team Odds

TeamOdds
76ers-550
Nets+450
Hawks+1800
Kings+2200
The Field+600

Ben Simmons has incurred millions of dollars in fines and the Sixers have been without their All-Star point guard for 3+ months. And yet, neither side seems willing to budge. Philadelphia is a title contender, and Simmons seemingly won’t report to the Sixers under any circumstances.

There’s a stalemate here that likely won’t be taken care of until the offseason. What team can realistically rely on Simmons, who hasn’t played in a game in nine months and comes with significant question marks both on and off the court? He’s such a unique player that he can’t just be thrown into a rotation like a sharpshooter or shot blocker could.

Sixers GM Daryl Morey went as far to say that a trade involving Simmons before the deadline was “less likely than likely,” with teams such as the Kings and Hawks unwilling to take on Tobias Harris’ lofty contract as part of a deal.

With the Nets also unlikely to deal James Harden in a Simmons deal, the only option for long-shot bettors at betting sites would be to take the field and hope that a rebuilding group rolls the dice on Simmons. But again, Philly needs to improve now. They won’t settle, especially knowing that Harden could be available this summer.

James Harden Next Team Odds

TeamOdds
Nets-650
76ers+650
Lakers+2500
The Field+900

Odds are projected by our Bookies.com team and are not currently available on legal betting sites.

Everything’s going wrong for the Nets right now. They’re mired in a massive slump that has them outside the top-6 in the East, Kyrie Irving still can’t play in home games, and Kevin Durant is injured.

But they’re still the NBA title favorites, will have a healthy KD by the time the postseason rolls around, and Harden is under contract next season ($47 million player option he’ll certainly pick up). What does it mean? The Nets can make a run at a championship and deal Harden in the offseason if he’s truly unhappy.

Postseason and defense jokes aside, Harden remains an elite Hall of Fame talent in his prime. His numbers have taken a hit playing alongside KD and (sometimes) Irving, but he’s still averaging 22.5 points and 10.2 assists this season—he joins Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, and Anthony Davis as the only players averaging a 20-point double-double, and they’re all doing it with rebounds.

Harden is still incredibly effective and makes whatever team he’s on an instant title contender. The obvious connection to Philly’s Daryl Morey makes the Sixers a potential destination, but we’re not buying it. Harden will lead the Nets into the postseason in search of his first ring in 2022.

Jerami Grant Next Team Odds

TeamOdds
Pistons-250
Wizards+450
Kings+800
Hawks+1250
Trail Blazers+1800
The Field+1400

Odds are projected by our Bookies.com team and are not currently available on legal betting sites.

The Pistons are tearing it all down, and Jerami Grant’s $60 million contract isn’t in the long-term plans. Then again, Grant is still just 27 years old and could be a core piece of the Pistons' future if a team isn’t willing to pay a premium for him.

What’s more, Grant reportedly doesn’t want to take on a smaller role, which could make contending teams apprehensive to acquire him at the deadline. We actually think the Pistons will wait to deal Grant until this offseason at the earliest. There’s no rush with their leading scorer signed through 2023.
