The WNBA begins its 28th year as the premier women’s basketball league in the nation. It is also its most anticipated season since perhaps the first one.

Now more than ever, star power is starting to be an asset to the WNBA. The individual star power of the NBA is unrivaled in American sports, as is NBA betting. Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese enter their rookie seasons after guiding the women’s college game to unprecedented heights.

Want to see the stars in person? It won’t be cheap.

Bookies.com has calculated the cost of attending WNBA games at each arena for the 2024 season. On average, families will spend $274.04 on four of the cheapest available tickets, a parking spot, two beers, two sodas, and four hot dogs at a WNBA arena this winter.

Perhaps surprisingly, that isn’t much lower than the $308.64 cost for a family of four to go to the average NBA game.

The cost between the priciest market and the cheapest, however, can be dramatic.

Easily, the most expensive games will be in the nation’s capital. Washington Mystics games average out to $418.20 for a family of four. The Mystics won the WNBA title in 2019 but haven’t gotten out of the first round of the playoffs since then. The Atlanta Dream and Chicago Sky each cost more than $350 per family.

In another surprise, the team that drafted Clark and has 2023 No. 1 overall pick Aliyah Boston, the Indiana Fever, will be the most-affordable spot to see a game this summer. Fever games run families just $180.64, or just over $45 per person for tickets, parking, drink and food.

Cheapest Available WNBA Ticket

Tickets make up the vast majority of the cost of attending a WNBA game. Getting tickets to some games is very easy, for others it’s far more difficult.

We took the cheapest available tickets (4) for all home games, only going through official sources and avoiding the secondary market (Ticketmaster standard tickets was the most common team partner). Those tickets were then averaged out for one cost. The tickets used for the formula were for those available as of May 5, 2024.

When the Fever come to town, ticket prices reach heights that women’s pro hoops have never seen. For example, Chicago Sky cheap tickets average out to $67.20 – but two games against the Fever, which run $300 and $225 apiece, jack those averages. For the Dallas Wings, no game cost more than $35, except for the $174 and $142 price tag for Clark’s Fever.

Every team’s priciest games involved the Indiana Fever, where even the cheapest tickets had a 400% or higher markup. On average, Fever road games cost over $720.93 for a family of four.

The Phoenix Mercury have just one game against the Fever, and those tickets are going for $44. That’s more than double the cost of most games, but far less than everywhere else. The Mercury finished dead-last in the WNBA last season but was in the Finals as recent as 2021.

Lot Parking

Many WNBA arenas don’t have official parking lots or ramps. But most are located in downtown of a major city, offering several available locations to park.

That’s the issue in Brooklyn, where New York Liberty games averaged over $66 for a walkable distance (roughly 7 minutes) to the arena. That was by far the priciest parking in the WNBA, and the same cost as the Brooklyn Nets, whose parking was the most expensive in the NBA.

The cheapest? That’s easy: The Connecticut Sun played at Mohegan Sun Arena, connected to the Mohegan Sun casino, the second-largest casino in the nation. Parking is free.

Beer & Soda

We took beer prices and converted them all to 16-ounce size. After doing so, one can really see a dramatic difference in cost, depending on your venue.

Beers are just over $15 a pop at Liberty games, just ahead of the Dallas Wings for the most-expensive suds in the WNBA. A beer in Atlanta and Indiana runs under $8.

Soda has its own volatility in prices, but less so than the Over-21 options. Wings games practically give it away, at $4.50 for a pair. Meanwhile, the Liberty again rank No. 1 in expense here, too, at $9 each.

Hot Dogs

Ironically, the city down for $2 footlongs is the priciest place for a regular dog at a WNBA game. The Las Vegas Aces charge just over $11 for a hot dog. The Dallas Wings, Los Angeles Sparks, and Indiana Fever charge less than half that.
