The dawn of Arizona sports betting is creeping ever closer, with users having the chance for early registration with several sports betting opertors on Saturday morning.

The idea behind early registration, which begins just after midnight local time for sports betting, is to obtain special welcoming offers to new Arizona bettors.

And then bettors will be able to hit the ground running once legalized sports betting begins in Arizona at 12:01 a.m. on Sept. 9. Sportsbooks and betting apps in Arizona will be live in time for NFL betting.

In addition, daily fantasy sports in Arizona can also go live on Saturday.

While we await final word on which sportsbook licenses have been approved by the Arizona Department of Gaming on Friday, we know that several of the biggest players in the marketplace have alliances in place, either with Arizona tribes or professional sports teams.

That’s because the state’s new gaming compact allocates 20 gaming operator’s licenses, split evenly among tribes and teams.

Four sportsbooks — FanDuel (partnering with the Phoenix Suns); Penn National Gaming/Barstool Sports (partnering with Phoenix International Raceway); BetMGM (partnering with Arizona Cardinals and Gila River Community); DraftKings (teaming with PGA Tour and TPC Scottsdale) — have been licensed by the department to offer sports betting in the state.

Early Registration Deals in Arizona

So far, five operators plan to offer early registration to bettors in Arizona. DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars and WynnBET will have a variety of promotions.

  • DraftKings is offering users $150 in free bets upon registration and an acquisition offer of 20 percent risk free up to $1,000. Both deals can be accepted and $5 is the minimum deposit.
  • FanDuel is offering $100 in site credit upon registration to those that pre-register, in addition to its acquisition offer of risk-free betting up to $1,000. Bettors can claim both deals and the minimum deposit is $10.
  • BetMGM is giving pre-registration users $200 in free bets upon registration and up to $1,000 in risk-free bets. You won’t be able to use both deals at the same time and $10 is the minimum deposit.
  • Caesars is offering a $100 free bet, plus a $1 free bet for every point/run in the following games (just Arizona teams) when you place a bet before Sept. 13 — Arizona Cardinals vs. Tennessee Titans (Sept. 12); Arizona State vs. UNLV (Sept. 11); Arizona vs. San Diego State (Sept. 11); and Diamondbacks vs. Mariners (three-game series between Sept. 10-12).
  • Lastly, WynnBet has announced that it will offer pre-registration in Arizona, but has not released details.

The market for sports betting is expected to be popular when it goes live in the state, according to a recent survey of residents in Arizona.
