Caesars Sportsbook Minnesota: Everything To Know About a 2023 Launch

From the Las Vegas Strip to the North Star State? That could well be the case for Caesars Sportsbook, should Minnesota lawmakers move to legalize online Minnesota sports betting in 2023.

That’s certainly the hope, given the pressure that Minnesota has found itself under due to the arrival of legal sports betting in neighboring states—including Wisconsin, which has begun amending gaming compacts to allow retail sports betting in tribal casinos.

Mobile sports betting is legal to Minnesota’s south and north in Iowa and the Canadian province of Ontario, and to its west, both South and North Dakota allow retail sports wagering.

No wonder, then, that several Minnesota lawmakers have been working for years to cobble together a measure that would legalize mobile and retail sports betting in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. And should that occur, Caesars Sportsbook would undoubtedly see the state as an expansion target given the presence of a major metro area in Minneapolis-St. Paul and the passionate followings in Minnesota for all four professional teams as well as college sports.

Minnesota Sports Betting A Reality in 2023?

Before Caesars Sportsbook can set up shop in the North Star State, lawmakers in Minnesota have to approve legal sports betting, a topic they’re expected to revisit when the legislature reconvenes in early 2023.

Legislators have tried numerous times before, but the idea gained little support until 2022 when an impasse over potentially allowing sports betting at racetracks in the state prevented a bill from being put forward for a vote.

Native American tribes have considerable influence over betting policy in Minnesota. When the Minnesota Indian Gaming Association reconsidered its long-held stand against any expansion of gambling in the state, the door was opened to the possibility of allowing sports betting to run through tribal casinos—as is happening in neighboring Wisconsin.

But MIGA’s opposition to the inclusion of racetracks in any sports betting framework brought the issue to a halt. And yet, incremental progress has clearly been made in Minnesota, which feels the pressure of being an island in a Midwest increasingly open to legal sports betting.

The new legislative session begins Jan. 3 and run until May 22, so if Minnesota sports betting passes by May, there's a chance a launch could happen either at the start of the 2023 NFL season, or in the middle of the season. If that doesn't come to fruition, the end of 2023 is still a realistic target. Until then, the Emperor waits.

Caesars Minnesota: Proven William Hill Know-How

The Caesars name brings flair and panache to the mobile sportsbook industry, given how it conjures visions of the company’s flagship casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Caesars formed its mobile sportsbook by absorbing the British bookmaking giant William Hill, a favorite of bettors across the pond since 1934, and currently offers retail or mobile sports betting in 18 states and Washington, D.C.

Those proven William Hill inner-workings have helped make Caesars Sportsbook among the best in the mobile industry, with broad betting limits and an outstanding user experience.

On top of that, Caesars has tacked on some of the best promos in American sports betting, as well as odds boosts and a well-regarded loyalty program. Caesars’ vast network of retail facilities includes four in Iowa, long a haven for Minnesota residents seeking legal sports betting options.

From the beginning, Caesars Sportsbook has proven itself an industry leader in terms of betting lines, markets and bonuses. As an official sponsor of the NFL, its NFL betting options are particularly voluminous.

Its odd boosts can add as much as 33 percent to some parlays involving the NFL or college football, and its rewards program is backed by the power of parent company Caesars Entertainment—which means the same points and perks as those playing the blackjack table at Caesars Palace.

What to Expect From The Caesars Minnesota Promo Code

An expected Caesars Sportsbook launch in Minnesota would introduce the state to a platform famous for its promos—not surprisingly since the company refers to itself as “the Emperor” of sportsbooks.

Its welcome offer to new users is one of the best in the industry, matching lost initial wagers up to $1,250 with use of the promo code BOOKIESFULL. The promo also comes with 1,000 Caesars rewards credits and 1,000 tier credits.

To qualify for the offer, new users must sign up for an account on the Caesars Sportsbook app or desktop site, make a minimum deposit of $20, and place an initial qualifying wager of $10. Should that initial bet win—then congratulations!

But even if it loses, users can take comfort in the knowledge that they’ll receive the amount back up to $1,250 in free bets that will expire 14 days after being credited to their account. Free bets are issued as a one-use token with no cash value, which means they can’t be divided or withdrawn.

Caesars is also well-known for its wealth of promotions available to existing users, some of which come with rewards like tickets to local sports teams with which the company has a partnership or Uber gift cards.

Referrals can be worth $100 in free bets, and profit boosts can increase the potential payoff of straight bets as well as parlays. Their customer service is also best in class, allowing users to contact a real person via chat, email, or even by phone.
