NFL Divisional Playoffs NFC Best Bets: Oddsmakers Favor Seahawks, Rams

Our NFL Divisional Playoffs NFC Best Bets have the Los Angeles Rams visiting Chicago, and Seattle playing host to San Francisco. The 49ers and Rams are hoping to continue their postseason success on the road this week. In the Wild Card Round, the Rams held off the Panthers in Charlotte. And the 49ers knocked off the defending Super Bowl Champion Eagles in Philly.
This week, the Rams face the Chicago Bears on the frozen tundra of Soldier Field Saturday. The Rams are 3.5-point favorites. They missed on a 10-point line against the Panthers. The Sunday NFC game has the Niners visiting the Seahawks. This game opened with the Seahawks as 6.5-point favorites. The line at the best sports betting sites quickly jumped as high as 7.5 points depending on the book.
This marks the third meeting this season between Seattle and San Francisco. They split their previous NFC West games this season, with the visitors winning both times. Seattle's 13-3 win in Week 18 clinched the NFC West title and the No. 1 seed.

NFL Divisional Round - What To Watch For In The NFC
The Rams sputtered down the stretch against the pesky Panthers. MVP-in-waiting Matthew Stafford threw a 19-yard go-ahead TD pass to Colby Parkinson with 38 seconds to ice the 34-31 victory. The Panthers and Bryce Young found just enough holes in the secondary to keep the Panthers in this game. This week, the Rams visit Chicago, where temperatures are expected to be in the teens amid snow showers. The wind on the lake is always treacherous this time of year. The Rams won't be able to replicate their high-octane attack. While Matthew Stafford earned his cold-weather stripes playing in Detroit, the rest of the Rams lack his resolve in the chiller.
The Bears capped off a wondrous night in the Windy City Saturday by eliminating their hated rival Packers, at Soldier Field. Chicago erased an 18-point deficit, and Caleb Williams delivered an all-world performance down the stretch. Earlier in the night, the Bulls and Blackhawks won, and the Cubs signed All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman. The Packers crumbled in the final 15 minutes and clearly weren't ready for a 60-minute slugfest.

NFL Divisional Round NFC Best Bets
San Francisco 49ers (12-5) at Seattle Seahawks (14-3)
Saturday, January 17
Time, TV: TBA
Buzz: This is the third meeting this season between Seattle and San Francisco, with the road team winning the previous two. The 49ers - mostly Christian McCaffrey - knocked off the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles on Sunday, emerging bruised and battered from their 23-19 road win. The depleted Niners lost TE George Kittle to a torn Achilles. He joins a long list of injured starts not playing for Kyle Shanahan this week. The Seahawks are fully healthy coming off the bye. A nasty playoff demon sits over Sam Darnold's left shoulder. Thankfully, the Seahawks won't need him to stack yards or produce too many points this week. The Seahawks beat the Niners 13-3 two weeks ago to clinch the NFC West and home field. Expect a few more points from Seattle this time. Mike Macdonald happily puts Darnold in game-management mode, if/when the Seahawks get an early lead.
Seattle's defense is ferocious and will overload on McCaffrey. Brock Purdy got the Niners going at Philly with some big plays early. But he also threw 2 picks. Shanahan emptied the playbook against the dysfunctional Eagles. The Seahawks offer a different breed of bird. A valiant postseason runs for the Niners ends amid the roar of the 12s and Seattle's vicious defense. Watch Purdy morphy into Mac Jones. The Seahawks own the best record in the NFL ATS at 12-5. That's just one reason why this line edged after it opened at 6.5. Still, it's the play as long as it stays at 7 or less. Weather won't be a factor here. But the under would still be worth a consideration at 45.5.
Best Bet: Seahawks -7 (-110) Hard Rock Bet via OddsJam

Los Angeles Rams (12-5) at Chicago Bears (11-6)
Sunday, January 18
Time, TV: TBA
Buzz: The Bears won their Super Bowl with an epic come-from-behind win over their very much hated rivals from Green Bay. Do the Bears have anything left in the tank after erasing an 18-point deficit? Caleb Williams showed why he was the No. 1 pick in the 2024 Draft Saturday night, but it took him 3 quarters to do so.
The Panthers exposed holes in the Rams' defense. Bears HC Ben Johnson should be able to exploit them all. The Rams defense faltered late against Carolina and needed to be bailed out by Matthew Stafford, who's poised to get an Irving Thalberg Lifetime Achievement MVP Award this season. The Rams defense got gassed in Charlotte. This week, it battles a brutally cold night along the shore of Lake Michigan, in addition to the Bears, Williams, and Johnson's game-plan. Temperatures on Sunday are expected to be in the teens, with light snow and just enough wind to make things miserable. Take the points here, as this one likely comes down to a kick at the gun.
Best Bet: Bears +3.5 (-108) DraftKings via OddsJam
