United have missed their last two penalties with their two designated penalty takers, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford, failing to score from the spot against Wolves and Crystal Palace respectively.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's stance to have two designated penalty takers in his side has caused much consternation among United fans and the Old Trafford boss has admitted he will not be taking either off penalty duty despite their recent failures.

United are only the second team in Premier League history to win penalties in each of their opening three games of the season after Chelsea in the 2012/13 season, but those missed efforts have cost United valuable points in the table.

Rashford scored from the penalty spot in the opening weekend of the season in the 4-0 victory over Chelsea before Pogba took responsibility in the second game against Wolves only to see his effort saved Rui Patricio.

England striker Rashford took over again for last weekend's defeat to Crystal Palace and was unfortunate to see his shot hit the post as he missed his first competitive spot-kick.

Rashford is odds on favourite at 1/4 (-400) with Betway to take United's next awarded penalty, with most United fans keen to see the striker named as the club's first-choice penalty taker.

Anthony Martial, who has started the season in good form with two goals in the opening three games, is second favourite at 4/1 (+400) to take the next United penalty in regulation time.

Pogba, who has missed four of his last nine penalties and has one of the worst spot-kick records in Premier League history of players to have taken at least 10, is rated a 5/1 (+500) shot to take United's next spot-kick.

Considering he is the more senior of the two ‘designated’ penalty takers, that looks a big price if the two takers decide to continue rotating the role.
