Ty Simpson, Alabama QB (+450)
The Saints currently have Tyler Shough, who was drafted 40th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, as the team’s starting QB. While Shough has shown some potential, if the Saints want to upgrade at QB, then Alabama’s Ty Simpson could be an option.
Simpson has had a terrific junior year for the Crimson Tide, leading the nation in attempts and completions, and is a likely top-five pick next year. The Saints could take him if they feel like he’s a big enough improvement on Shough.
Dante Moore, Oregon QB (+475)
Another option for the Saints at quarterback is Oregon QB Dante Moore, who is projected to go in the top 10. Moore has had excellent numbers this year for the Ducks, and he will certainly be in the mix for the Saints’ top draft pick if they feel like he will be an upgrade on Shough.

Fernando Mendoza, Indiana QB (+475)
The other quarterback option for the Saints will be Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza. He has played great for the Hoosiers in his junior season, leading the nation in touchdowns. Mendoza figures to get taken in the top 10 and will certainly merit draft consideration by the Saints.
With head coach Kellen Moore's offensive background, it will be fascinating to see which of Mendoza, Simpson and Moore he would prefer as the Saints' quarterback of the future.
Arvell Reese, Ohio State LB (+700)
Ohio State LB Arvell Reese is certainly an option for the Saints as their first-round pick. He is one of the top defensive prospects in the draft this year, and for a team that is in dire need of upgrades on the defensive side of the ball, Reese would be a welcome addition to the team.
Reese's stock in NOLA will rise if Moore and the front office aren't enamored with the three quarterbacks above, as the Saints may choose to build out their roster with blue chip talent rather than thrusting a young QB into a not-great situation.
Peter Woods, Clemson DL (+900)
Clemson DL Peter Woods is another defensive player expected to get taken in the first round. Again, the Saints need help everywhere, but especially on the defense. The team may have to heavily consider Woods if they decide to go with a defensive player with their first-round pick.
Keldric Faulk, Auburn EDGE (+1250)
Another position of need for the Saints is at EDGE, so Auburn’s Keldric Faulk would be an interesting pickup. Faulk is expected to be chosen somewhere in the top 10 of the draft.
Rueben Bain Jr., Miami (FL) EDGE (+1250)
We also have another potential addition to the EDGE with Rueben Bain Jr, who plays at Miami (FL). He is a tremendous prospect and is rumored to potentially go first overall. If, for some reason, Bain Jr. is available when the Saints pick, they may just have to pounce on him.
The Field (+900)
The Saints have holes everywhere throughout their lineup, so you can never discount the field being an option for the team’s first-round pick.
