Week 14 College Football Best Bets: Rivalries Fill Menu During Thanksgiving Weekend

Our Week 14 College Football Best Bets include more than a dozen long-time historic rivalries. Intra-state clashes dominate across the nation.
Ole Miss and Mississippi State vie for the Egg Bowl in what will likely be Lane Kiffin’s final game at head coach in Oxford. Texas A&M visits Texas as those schools play for the 120th time since 1894, but only the 2nd time since 2021. Texas holds a 77-37-5 series edge.
Then, of course, there's Michigan and Ohio State.

Auburn and Alabama meet the 90th Iron Bowl. Tennessee and Vanderbilt first played in 1892. That “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” between Georgia and Georgia Tech resumes this weekend. It goes back to 1893, as does Iron Bowl. North Carolina and North Carolina State played their inaugural game against each other a year later. South Carolina and Clemson began hostilities in 1896. Louisville and Kentucky, meanwhile, first met in 1912.
The Arizona Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils meet for the 99th time in a series that began 13 years before Arizona became a state.
Elsewhere, Iowa and Nebraska’s Thanksgiving Weekend game dates to 1891. Illinois and Northwestern battle for the Land Of Lincoln Trophy, and Indiana meets Purdue for the 127th time. Winner gets the Old Oaken Bucket.

Week 14 College Football Best Bets: Odds & Game Picks
Friday, Nov. 28
Ole Miss at Mississippi State, 12 p.m. (ABC)
Buzz: Lane Kiffin spends Black Friday coaching what will likely be his final game in Oxford. Ole Miss (10-1, 6-1 SEC) issued a statement that Kiffin remains fully focused on The 122nd Egg Bowl. Kiffin will announce his 2026 coaching plans sometime after the game. Ole Miss leads this series 68-47-6. Regardless of who may their coach, the Rebels can clinch a spot in the SEC title game with a win here, and some help. More importantly, a one-loss Ole Miss team clinches a CFB Playoff spot. The Bulldogs (5-6, 1-6 SEC) continue to bark and bite against the spread, having covered in 8 of 11 games this season. Both teams beat Arkansas and lost to Georgia. The Bulldogs aim for a bowl berth and some big-time pride. The Rebels won’t make it easy for Kiffin to leave – even if news leaks about his next move.
Best Bet: Ole Miss -7.5 (-108) DraftKings via OddsJam
Utah at Kansas, 12 p.m. (ESPN)
Buzz: The Utes (9-2, 6-2 Big 12) rallied from a 16-point deficit in the 4th quarter and gave up 47 points to Kansas State in Week 13. Still, they poached a 51-47 on a TD in the final minute. That wasn’t nearly enough to satisfy a 17.5-point spread. Utah’s in must-win status to remain in the Big 12 title chase and College Football Playoff picture. Kansas (5-6, 3-5 Big 12) needs a win for bowl eligibility. An 11 a.m. local start and 35-degree temperatures sweeping across the Kansas plains have us leaning into the under.
Best Bet: Under 59.5 Points (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Georgia vs. Georgia Tech, 3:30 p.m. (ABC)
Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta
Buzz: The “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” between Georgia and Georgia Tech goes back to 1893. Expect the antipathy this year to rage as hot as ever. The 9-2 Yellow Jackets blew their shot at an ACC title game Saturday with a 42-38 loss to Pitt. Tech’s only chance for a sniff at a playoff berth would be an upset as 13.5-point underdogs. Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs are playing their best ball of the season. Georgia (10-1) owns a spot in the SEC title game and still gets into the playoff with a loss here. The Bulldogs are underwater ATS but have covered in 5 of their past 6 games. And this IS “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate.”
Best Bet: Georgia -13.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Texas A&M at Texas, 7:30 p.m. (ABC)
Buzz: Undefeated Texas A&M (11-0, 7-0 SEC) heads to the Forty Acres on Black Friday for its first meeting with Texas in more than a decade. The preseason line opened with Texas favored by 10.5, but the Longhorns’ uneven 8-3 season and A&M’s surge flipped the number by 13 points. Aggies QB Marcel Reed has vaulted into fringe Heisman territory with 3,000+ yards and 30+ TDs. Texas QB Arch Manning has mixed flashes with inconsistency, posting 25 TDs and 7 picks. A&M is locked into the SEC title game and CFP. Texas is not—but the rivalry stakes remain enormous. Take the Longhorns and the points at home.
Best Bet: Texas +3 (-115) FanDuel via OddsJam
Indiana at Purdue, 7:30 p.m. (NBC)
Buzz: The Hoosiers (11-0, 8-0 Big Ten) earn a Big Ten title game berth with the win. Their place in the College Football Playoff is secured. Purdue (2-8, 0-8 Big Ten) hasn’t beaten a Power Four team all season. Indiana has missed the cover in 4 of its past 5 games. No need to flirt with the 28.5 points. This one lands south of the total given the real possibility of the Boilermakers not scoring a touchdown. Winner gets the Oak Oaken Bucket.
Best Bet: Under 54.5 Points (-112) FanDuel via OddsJam
Arizona at Arizona State, 9 p.m. (FOX)
Buzz: Arizona (8-3, 5-3 Big 12) and Arizona State (8-3, 6-2) renew a feud that predates the state itself for the 99th time. Arizona leads 51–45–1 – not counting a 2021 win vacated due to NCAA violations. This series began in 1899—a full 13 years before Arizona reached statehood. It’s the oldest “trophy” rivalry in college football. They play for the Territorial Cup, or its replica, a trophy that traces back to that first showdown. The original hardware vanished for decades, leaving large chunks of its history somewhere between “misplaced” and “myth.” But the rivalry remains one of the oldest — and most spite-driven — in college football. This version should offer one of the most-competitive games between these schools in years. The Wildcats eye revenge for last year’s 49-7 beatdown by the-then-playoff-bound Sun Devils. ASU holds a slim shot at the Big 12 title game and the College Football Playoff. That focus and motivation helps Kenny Dillingham’s team fight through the hate.
Best Bet: Arizona State +1.5 (-115) FanDuel via OddsJam

Saturday, Nov. 29
Ohio State at Michigan, 12 p.m. (FOX)
Buzz: Ingest all the hype you can. Ryan Day’s Buckeyes have dropped 4 straight and haven’t won at Ann Arbor since 2019. Last year, the Wolverines upset their hosts 13-10 as 20.5-point underdogs and planted the flag at midfield. Ohio State hasn’t lost a game since. A run of 364 days as of Saturday. Day can’t screw up this one because Matt Patricia’s defense won’t let him. Ohio State’s winning stream continues and its losing streak to Michigan ends with a decisive win and cover. Michigan (9-2, 7-1 Big Ten) remains winless against ranked teams. Michigan (4-7 ATS) owns the worst record against the spread of all 5 FBS schools in the state. Expect Ohio State’s defense to go all-out for 60 minutes terrorizing Michigan freshman QB Bryce Underwood. Meanwhile, Julian Sayin makes his final pitch for the Heisman with another spectacular outing.
Best Bet: Ohio State -9.5 (-110) ESPN BET via OddsJam
Colorado at Kansas State, 12 p.m. (FS1)
Buzz: K-State scored 47 points but still managed to fall short against Utah. The Wildcats did grab an impressive backdoor cover on the 17.5-point line. The ‘Cats need a win to earn a bowl berth. K-State gets the victory. The Buffs finish another disappointing season with one Big 12 victory, and just 3 wins/covers in 12 games.
Best Bet: Kansas State -17.5 (-110) Hard Rock Bet via OddsJam
Iowa State at Oklahoma State, 12 p.m. (ESPNU)
Buzz: Four straight losses wrecked Iowa State’s season, one that began with serious consideration for the Big 12 Championship. At 7-4, the Cyclones have secured a bowl bid. Rocco Becht threw for 241 yards and 3 TDs in ISU’s impressive 38-14 win over Kansas State. Anything close to that effort at Stillwater against the Pokes gets it done this week.
Best Bet: Iowa State -13.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
Houston at Baylor, 12 p.m. (TNT)
Buzz: This game kicks off at 11 a.m. local time. Neither team remains alive in the Big 12 or CFB Playoff chase. The (8-3, 5-3 Big 12) Cougars coughed up a fur ball in their 17-14 loss to TCU Saturday, ending all hopes for postseason glory. The Bears (5-6, 3-5) may find just enough late-morning motivation to clinch a bowl berth. An ugly affair beckons. But the ‘Cats scratch just enough pride to nab the cover.
Best Bet: Houston +2.5 (-110) DraftKings via OddsJam
Texas Tech at West Virginia, 12 p.m. (ESPN)
Buzz: The green hills surrounding Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown offer a stirring contrast to the arid plains of West Texas. The Red Raiders, however, should feel right at home in command of both their spot in the Big 12 Championship Game and College Football Playoff. RB Cameron Dickey carries the day literally and figuratively for the visitors. Tech (10-1, 7-1) may nab a top four spot in the final Playoff poll. The Red Raiders own an FBS-best 10-1 record against the spread. They come off the bye and a 48-9 win over UCF. And they’ll need style points to impress the playoff selection committee. West Virginia may be ready to move on from Rich Rodriguez (for the 2nd time) after this one is over.
Best Bet: Texas Tech -20.5 (-110) BetMGM via OddsJam
UCF at BYU, 1 p.m. (ESPN2)
Buzz: BYU (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) scored a decisive road win in the chill of Cincinnati Saturday night, winning 26-14 as 2.5-point favorites. The Cougars may still reach the Big 12 title game with a loss, but why chance it. UCF (5-6, 2-6 Big 12) may need 3 quarters to catch its breath at altitude. The Knights come up just short of a bowl bid. This number seems a bit lofty. BYU held the Bearcats to 14 points at home. Its defense could keep UCF in single digits. But 18.5 points is a troublesome ask - think a 24-7 final. We’ll take the under given the time of day (11 a.m.) and 43-degree temperatures at kickoff.
Best Bet: Under 47.5 (-110) BetMGM via OddsJam
LSU at Oklahoma, 3:30 p.m. (ABC)
Buzz: The Oklahoma Sooners (9-2, 6-2 SEC) held off the Missouri Tigers Saturday to preserve their top-12 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. Oklahoma needs another impressive performance this week against these Tigers keep it. Lane Kiffin may well be LSU’s coach-in-waiting by kickoff. The Tigers’ roster is likely loaded with players focused on the portal, never mind Brent Venables' tenacious defense. Never mind LSU’s soon-to-be-looking-for-its-next-job coaching staff.
Best Bet: Oklahoma -9.5 (-110) DraftKings via OddsJam

Oregon at Washington, 3:30 p.m. (CBS)
Buzz: The 118th version of "The Border War" kicks off with Washington leading the series 63-49-5. Oregon emptied the playbook in its impressive 42-27 win and cover at -10.5 over USC in Euguene Saturday. Despite their overall record, the Ducks (10-1, 7-1 Big Ten) are just 3-3 ATS in their past 6 games. Oregon doesn’t sniff the Big Ten title game unless Indiana loses to Purdue (not going to happen) and Ohio State loses to Michigan (always a possibility). However, the Ducks are all-but-certain to reach the playoff with a win this week. The Huskies (8-3, 5-3) quietly assembled a solid second season in the Big Ten. They’ll be howling at Husky Stadium for a full 60 minutes. Just enough for the home team.
Best Bet: Washington +6.5 (-110) BetMGM via OddsJam
Cincinnati at TCU, 3:30 p.m. (FOX)
Buzz: The “What Could Have Been Bowl” in the Big 12 has the declawed Cincinnati Bearcats facing TCU in Fort Worth. Scott Satterfield’s Bearcats (7-3, 5-3 Big 12) dropped 3 straight conference games after a 5-0 start. TCU (7-4, 4-4) dropped 2 of 3 before its upset 17-14 win over Houston Saturday. That could give the Horned Frogs a boost here, and a solid conference victory heading into bowl season. An early lead here is pivotal for the hosts. Cincinnati remains winless in its past 16 games when trailing at the half.
Best Bet: TCU -3.5 (-110) ESPN BET via OddsJam
Vanderbilt at Tennessee, 3:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Buzz: Tennessee and Vanderbilt first played in 1892. The Vols (8-3, 4-3 SEC) lead the series 81-33-5 and have won 7 straight. This is the lone matchup of ranked teams on Saturday. No. 14 Vanderbilt (9-2, 5-2) remains mathematically alive in the hunt for both the SEC Championship Game and the CFB Playoff. Of course, the Commodores need some help to achieve both goals. But it all begins with a win in Knoxville. The No. 20 Vols find themselves in the unique position of looking up at Vandy across the board. Diego Pavia threw for a career-high 484 yards in Vanderbilt’s 45-17 rout of Kentucky. The Vols rolled through Gainesville Saturday. Both Tennessee QB Joey Aguilar and Pavia look to air it out. Last team with the ball wins. Vandy’s covered in 5 of its past 6 games, while Tennessee has missed on the number in 6 of its past 8 games.
Best Bet: Vanderbilt +3 (-115) ESPN BET via OddsJam
Missouri at Arkansas, 3:30 p.m. (SEC)
Buzz: The Tigers shoot for an 8-win season and a .500 record in the SEC. The Razorbacks, meanwhile, have gone winless in the SEC. Tickets for this one at Razorback Stadium can be had for as little as $6. Still overpriced.
Best Bet: Missouri -2.5 (-115) ESPN BET via OddsJam
UCLA at USC, 4:30 p.m. (NBC)
Buzz: The two closest schools geographically in the Big Ten meet for the 95th time. UCLA and USC first played each other in football in 1929. USC leads the series 53–34–7. USC QB Jayden Maiava tried to beat Oregon by himself Saturday, throwing for 306 yards, 3 TDs (and 2 picks) in USC’s 42-27 loss. The Trojans remained competitive in Euguene until the end. A win gives USC (9-3, 6-2 Big Ten) a shot at a top-tier bowl and the Victory Bell. UCLA (3-8, 3-5) may want a return to the Pac-12. And you never say never when it comes to the CFB Playoff. The Trojans stack style points aplenty.
Best Bet: USC -19.5 (-115) FanDuel via OddsJam
Alabama at Auburn, 7:30 p.m. (ABC)
Buzz: Alabama and Auburn meet in the 90th incantation of the Iron Bowl. Alabama (9-2, 6-1 SEC) arrives at Jordan-Hare Stadium in “must-win” mode if it hopes to reach the SEC Championship Game and/or the CFB Playoff. Kalen DeBoer has yet to fully convert the faithful in Tuscaloosa. An Iron Bowl victory gives him legitimacy among even the most cynical Crimson Tide faithful. But a loss to the 5-6 Tigers would be catastrophic. And banish Alabama to purgatory - or the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. The Tigers torment their cross-state rivals at home – just enough to score the backdoor cover.
Best Bet: Auburn +6.5 (-115) FanDuel via OddsJam
Notre Dame at Stanford, 10:30 p.m. (ESPN)
Buzz: Stanford beat Cal Saturday 31-10 in the Big Game to bring The Axe back home. That gave Stanford the most wins in a season since 2020. Time for a letdown. The Irish demolished Syracuse 70-7 Saturday as 34.5-point favorites. Notre Dame led 21-0 before taking an offensive snap. The Irish average 41.2 points per game, while Stanford averages just 18.9. The disparity in talent takes over in the 2nd half and the Irish don’t stop.
Best Bet: Notre Dame -32.5 (-110) FanDuel via OddsJam
