The next two weeks of the NFL betting season features Saturday games, an annual tradition for the weeks when there is no college football.

Finding trends for Saturday NFL games can be tough, compared to similar trends for Thursday or Sunday/Monday primetime action or playing with more or less rest than the opponent. But there is one strong trend that fit into the Week 15 narrative, and it involves Bill Belichick.

The New England Patriots play at the Indianapolis Colts, and if history is any indication, bet against Belichick and the Patriots NFL Week 15 odds at your own risk. The coach is 8-0 all-time on Saturdays.

There are 11 AFC teams at .500 or better. By the end of Sunday afternoon action, the crowded field will be thinned. The Browns host the Raiders in the other Saturday game, offering another critical matchup with AFC Playoffs implications. That the Steelers host the Titans and Broncos host the Bengals make this a week that will likely end postseason hopes for a few of the fringe. There’s a lot to digest when it comes to making your NFL picks on NFL Week 15 spreads, so let’s dive in.

Thursday, Dec. 16

Kansas City Chiefs (-3) at Los Angeles Chargers, 8:20 p.m. ET

Take a look at Chiefs vs Chargers odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

The Chiefs lost to the Chargers 30-24 back in Week 3, but that was a long time ago, especially for Kansas City. The Chiefs have won six in a row and the defense hasn’t allowed over 17 points during the streak while the offense has scored 40-plus in two of the last four. The Chargers are bottom-3 vs. the run and Clyde Edwards-Helaire is finding his form back from injury. He rushed for 100 yards vs. L.A. the first time around. KC’s defense is likely to battle LA without All-Pro DE Chris Jones (COVID protocols).

The Chargers are on a 5-4 run as they try to keep up in the competitive AFC West. A sweep of the Chiefs would go a long way. QB Justin Herbert has saved his best for KC. In three career games vs. the Chiefs, Herbert is averaging 298 yards and nearly three TDs. Los Angeles is 7-1 this season when Herbert tosses two-plus TDs.

Saturday, Dec. 18

New England Patriots at Indianapolis Colts (-2.5), 8:15 p.m. ET

Take a look at Patriots vs Colts odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

New England comes out of its bye week the winner of seven straight games. Six of those opponents were held to 13 or fewer points. The Patriots in that span have dominated the turnover war, at plus-13. The Pats and Colts have faced each other eight times in the last 12 seasons, with New England winning them all.

The Colts are also well-rested coming off a bye and staying home has proved fruitful for the offense. They’ve won their last three in the dome, scoring 30-plus in each while holding the opponents to only 11 ppg. Jonathan Taylor leads the NFL in nearly every rushing stat and has scored every game since Week 3. New England’s defense ranks No. 3 vs. the pass but only 19th vs. the run. This game has huge AFC playoff implications and should see plenty of action at top betting sites, including at BetMGM, where you can get a $1000 risk-free bet using the BetMGM bonus code.

Sunday, Dec. 19

Dallas Cowboys (-10.5) at New York Giants, 1 p.m. ET

Take a look at Cowboys vs Giants odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

Dallas has beaten New York in eight of the last nine matchups, including a 44-20 throttling on Oct. 10. Dak Prescott went for 302 yards and three TDs passing, but the fewer attempts for Dak, the better. Dallas is 5-0 when Prescott throws 32 or fewer times per game, and 3-4 when he’s over that mark. New York is bottom 10 vs. the run, which aligns well with the Cowboys’ path to success. Dallas is one of the biggest favorites in NFL Week 15 odds.

The Giants offense has suffered an outage. It scored just 32 points in three games before managing 21 in Week 14 vs. the Chargers, though the Giants trailed 30-7 going into the fourth quarter. Daniel Jones (neck) remains out, putting more emphasis on Saquon Barkley and the run game to pick up the slack. Barkley’s season-high is just 64 yards.

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars (-4), 1 p.m. ET

Take a look at Texans vs Jaguars odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

Since scoring 37 points in Week 1, the Texans have scored in double figures in just six of 11 games. The offense has generated 100 rushing yards just once since Week 1. We bring up Week 1 because it was the best game of the year, a 37-21 victory in which they posted a season-high 449 yards of offense and won the turnover battle 3-0. They opponent that week: the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jacksonville’s season just keeps getting worse, as Urban Meyer surrounds himself with drama and the offense fails to produce. The Jaguars were blanked 20-0 by the Titans in Week 14, the seventh straight game with under 17 points. No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence has just six TDs the last 13 games.

Tennessee Titans (-2) at Pittsburgh Steelers, 1 p.m. ET

Take a look at Titans vs Steelers odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

The Titans’ run offense hasn’t been the same without Derrick Henry, but the run defense? It ranks top-5, and Tennessee showcased it by holding the Jaguars to eight yards rushing in a 20-0 shutout win. The offense remains a concern, scoring only 11 ppg the last three weeks. But the minus-9 turnover ratio the previous two weeks turned around nicely with a plus-4 advantage in Week 15. Pittsburgh is among the bottom turnover-causing teams.

Ben Roethlisberger has done a good job of not turning the ball over, and it’s showing up in the standings. Pittsburgh has lost all five games he’s tossed an INT and is 6-1 in the others, the lone defeat a 41-37 shootout with the Chargers. He’s averaged 274 yards passing and 2.1 TDs in nine career games vs. the Titans, who boats the fifth-worst pass defense in the NFL.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins (-10), 1 p.m. ET

Take a look at Jets vs Dolphins odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

The Jets offense has had moments of solid play. The defense? Less so. They rank in the bottom-3 of the NFL vs. both the pass and the run, culminating in the last-ranked defense overall. They’ve allowed at least 30 points in six of the last eight games. Part of the issue is it’s allowed 21 rushing TDs, but the offense’s 20 INTs has put them in a bad spot, too.

Tua Tagovailoa has amped his play lately and it’s showing in Dolphins wins. They’ve taken four games in a row, and Tua has passed for 273, 230 and 244 in the last three with a completion percent of over 80%. He could keep that going here, as he brings an 83.3% completion rate vs. the Jets in two career games. Miami has beaten New York in nine of the last 11 meetings, including a 24-17 game on Nov. 21.

Arizona Cardinals (-13.5) at Detroit Lions, 1 p.m. ET

Take a look at Cardinals vs Lions odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

The Cardinals enter the stretch run of the season at 10-3 and tied for the NFL’s best record, ranking in the top 10 in both yards gained and yards allowed. The only known way to challenge them down is by shutting down the offense. Arizona is 8-1 when accumulating over 350 yards. Detroit has allowed 381 ypg this season, the third-most. The best sportsbooks in the US have the Cardinals as the biggest favorite in NFL Week 15 odds, and there should be plenty of action at Arizona sports betting sites.

The pressure of getting win No. 1 is over, but the challenge of scoring enough points to keep up remains a battle. The Lions have accumulated less than 250 yards in three of the past five weeks and scored under 20 points in all but two occasions.

Carolina Panthers at Buffalo Bills (-11), 1 p.m. ET

Take a look at Panthers vs Bills odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

The excitement of Cam Newton’s return to Carolina has been vaporized, and Christian McCaffrey’s latest season-ending injury was another blow. The Panthers are 0-3 with Newton under center. At least the defense has continued to keep the team in games. The Panthers rank No. 2 vs. the pass and only three times have they allowed over 320 total yards.

The Bills present a different challenge, however, gaining over 430 yards the last five games. Buffalo once considered the AFC Championship favorite, now fights for a postseason berth with a 7-6 record and in the midst of a two-game losing streak. The Bills have had success vs. Cam Newton, however, limiting him to just two TDs in four career games, and 166 ypg.

Cincinnati Bengals at Denver Broncos (-2.5), 4:05 p.m. ET

Take a look at Bengals vs Broncos odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

Cincinnati is a perfect 5-0 on the year when RB Joe Mixon gains over 70 yards. He’d went off for 123 and 165 with two TDs in consecutive weeks before being held in check by the Chargers and 49ers the last two weeks. Teams that can gain 80 yards vs. the Denver defense are 6-1.

Teddy Bridgewater had just four TDs in the previous five games for Denver entering Week 14, and the Broncos had managed under 20 points five times in their last nine games, before Bridgewater tossed a pair of scores and the Broncos went off in a 38-10 win over the Lions. The defense continues to get it done on its end, allowing over 23 points just three times. In its last five games, Cincy has allowed 40-plus points twice and 13 or less twice.

Atlanta Falcons (-9.5) at San Francisco 49ers, 4:05 p.m. ET

Take a look at Falcons vs 49ers odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

Few teams run hot-and-cold the way the Falcons do on both sides of the ball. They’re averaging 11 more points in victories than in defeats and are allowing 12 ppg less in wins compared to losses. Matt Ryan is included in that boat; Atlanta is 4-2 when he tosses at least two TDs but 2-5 when he doesn’t.

The return of George Kittle from injury has added a new dimension to an offense that had relied heavily on Deebo Samuel. The last two games, Kittle has a combined 22 receptions for 332 yards and three TDs. Kittle dominated the Falcons in his lone meeting against them, with 13 receptions and 134 yards. San Francisco has won four of five but is only 2-4 at home this season.

Green Bay Packers (-5) at Baltimore Ravens, 4:25 p.m. ET

Take a look at Packers vs Ravens odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

The Packers offense has weapons galore, but the defense has been just as important to the team’s success. Green Bay ranks top-10 vs. both the pass and the run and has held five opponents to under 300 yards. The Ravens haven’t scored 20 points in four straight weeks and has one of the bottom pass defenses in the NFL. Davante Adams has 25 receptions for 340 yards and four TDs the last three games.

Baltimore owns one of the bottom pass defenses in the NFL, allowing 280 ypg through the air. That sounds bad with Rodgers coming to town, but the Ravens have limited the last three opponents to 222, 236 and 190 yards through the air. It’s a feast-or-famine defense with four opponents passing for 340-plus and six for 225 or less. Lamar Jackson's injury shifted the line five points to Green Bay -7 on Sunday evening.

New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-10.5), 8:20 p.m. ET

Take a look at Saints vs Buccaneers odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

Tampa Bay is one of just two teams with an unbeaten record at home (Packers). What’s most impressive is only two of those games have been decided by less than 20 points. Tom Brady is averaging nearly four TDs per game at home while the Bucs’ defense allows nearly 10 full fewer points per game at home.

However, the Saints have beaten the Buccaneers in five of six, and before you think “most of those games featured Drew Brees on one side, and not Tom Brady on the other,” consider that that three of those victories did come against Brady, including a 36-27 victory on Halloween. QB Taysom Hill doesn’t have a ton of experience passing vs. the Bucs, but he is 4-for-4 for 104 yards. Top betting sites are predicting a rout, including at Caesars Sportsbook, where the Caesars Sportsbook promo code gives new bettors a first-bet match of up to $1,001.

Monday, Dec. 20

Las Vegas Raiders (-1) at Cleveland Browns, 5 p.m. ET

Note: The league postponed this game from Saturday

Take a look at Raiders vs Browns odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

To beat the Raiders, opponents needs to get up-and-down the field with regularity – because that’s how the Raiders beat teams. Las Vegas is a perfect 4-0 when gaining 425 total yards and 0-7 when it finishes under that mark. When the Raiders defense allows under 300 yards, the team is a bizarre 0-4. Cleveland is 1-5 when the opponent gains 350 or more yards.

The Browns own the third-ranked run offense in the NFL and face Vegas, whcih ranks 26th vs. the run. But we’ll see who is available to play for Cleveland after eight members of the team were placed in COVID protocols this week, including QB Baker Mayfield and head coach Kevin Stefanski, two starting offensive linemen and top wideout Jarvis Landry. Kareem Hunt (knee) is likely out regardless, as well. The line shifted a full touchdown toward the Raiders with the COVID news.

Minnesota Vikings (-3.5) at Chicago Bears, 8:15 p.m. ET

Take a look at Vikings vs Bears odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

Kirk Cousins has been effective this season in part because he’s limited his interceptions to just five all season. His track record vs. the Bears isn’t as solid, with four picks in five games as the QB of the Vikings. The last three games vs. Chicago has been decided by six points or less, which fits into the “win some, lose some” mantra of Minnesota this season. All but one of its games in 2021 has been decided by eight or fewer points.

The Bears haven’t been consistently impressive, with seven playoff berths since 1992. But they’ve beaten the Vikings in four of the last five meetings. Despite the poor record, the Bears actually do rank top-10 in the NFL in both rushing the ball and pass defense. Their turnover margin, however, ranks only ahead of the Jaguars and Jets.

Tuesday, Dec. 21

Two Sunday games that were postponed have been moved to Tuesday

Washington Football Team at Philadelphia Eagles (-6), 7 p.m. ET

Take a look at Washington vs Eagles odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

No WFT opponents has scored over 21 points the last five outings prior to a 27-20 loss to the rival Cowboys in Week 14. Still, compare the defense now to the one that allowed 30 ppg the first seven weeks. Washington has committed at least one turnover in all but one game, while Philly’s defense has forced at least one in seven of the last nine.

The Eagles had won five straight over Washington before dropping both games last season. While the offensive focus on rushing has been key, the defense has determined wins and losses. Philly is 0-5 when allowing 380 or more yards and 6-2 when it’s under that mark. Washington has only hit that mark three times in 12 games.

Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams, 7 p.m.

Take a look at Seahawks vs Rams odds, injury report, betting lines and more.

The Seahawks offense had scored just 25 points the last three games before going for 30 in a big win over the 49ers and 33 in Week 14 vs. the Texans. QB Russell Wilson is showing signs of his pre-injury self, completing over 70% of his passes the last two weeks with six TDs and one INT. He’s averaging just 218 ypg in 19 career starts vs. the Rams.

Turnovers, or lack thereof, has been the key to success for the Rams. They’re 0-4 when they lose the turnover battle and 9-0 when they don’t. They’re also a perfect 7-0 against sub-.500 opponents. The Rams handled the Seahawks 26-17 in the first meeting this season, the game in which Wilson injured his finger. Seattle, for its part, has the fewest turnovers of any team in 2021. Odell Beckham Jr., who had a breakout game on Monday vs. the Cardinals, is in COVID protocol and may miss this week’s action. He’s one of 13 Rams players in quarantine.
