Cooper Kupp is on the market.

The NFL wide receiver announced on social media the Rams will be seeking to trade him this offseason.
Kupp was a pivotal player during the Rams Super Bowl 56 season. He was Offensive Player of the Year that season. He earned a rare NFL receiving Triple Crown with the most receptions (145), yards (1,947), and receiving touchdowns (16).

Kupp missed most of 2022 due to injury. He combined for 126 catches and 1,447 yards receiving during the past 2 seasons.

Kupp will be 32 when the 2025-26 NFL season begins. Any team that deals for him will be on the hook for $20 million in 2025 and $19.85 million in 2026. It’s likely, however, that his deal would be renegotiated as part of any trade.

“I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA,” Kupp posted on social media.

“2024 began with one of the best training camps of my career. Preparations start now for 2025. Highly motivated, as healthy as ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for years to come. Love you guys. But coming for it all,” he added.

Where will Cooper Kupp play in 2025? Multiple NFL teams will covet his services. Kupp has won a Super Bowl and sounds like he’d like to make a run at another ring.

Cooper Kupp’s Next Team Analysis

The Denver Broncos (+500) are an interesting choice here, at least for Kupp. The Broncos and rookie QB Bo Nix reached the Wild Card Round this season before getting bounced by Buffalo 31-7. The Broncos nearly beat the Chiefs – when it would have mattered – during the regular season in Week 10 as a potential game-winning field goal doinked off the upright in a 16-14 loss.

Denver leaned heavily on Courtland Sutton this past season. Sutton is in the final year of his contract. Sutton played in all 17 regular-season games for Denver this past season and caught 81 balls for 1,081 yards and 8 TDs. The combination of Sutton and Kupp would be a formidable challenge to any secondary. And might be enough to put Denver in contention to end the Chiefs’ 8-season run of AFC West dominance. The Broncos have $37,324,259 in available cap space (via Spotrac) so Kupp could easily fit into their plans. And a renegotiation could be an option with Sutton likely gone after this season.

The Eagles (+600) and Chiefs (+600) meet in Super Bowl 59 on Sunday. Both teams cycled through receivers this past season. Jalen Hurts targeted 15 different would-be pass-catchers this season. DeVonta Smith led the Eagles with 68 catches and A.J. Brown was tops with 1,079 yards receiving. Hurts and Brown have had their issues, as well.

For Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs, their WR corps has been decimated by injuries and dropped passes. Mahomes targeted 20 different receivers this past season. Of course, his binky was Travis Kelce. Taylor Swift’s boyfriend caught 97 of 113 targets for 823 yards, but only 3 TDs. Kelce denied retirement rumors this week in New Orleans. Kansas City has been able to use rookie Xavier Worthy to open defenses downfield. Worthy averaged 10.8 yards per catch.

The Detroit Lions (+750) saw their Super Bowl dreams get mugged at Ford Field by the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Playoff round. The Lions averaged 33.2 points per game during the regular season but gave 45 to the Commanders in the playoff loss. WR Amon-Ra St. Brown is signed through the 2027 season. He was 2nd in the NFL with 115 catches, 3rd in TDs with 1,263, and 5th with 1,263 yards receiving. His salary cap hit is a low $13.910 million this season. Thus, Kupp could be a financial fit. Especially with the Lions’ $56,976,121 in available cap space.
