Just over one year ago, Deion Sanders became the head coach for the Colorado Buffaloes. He brought a Prime Time level of brashness and a new approach to recruiting and promoting that was endured by many, while bristling others.
After a fairly lackluster Season 1, Deion’s Buffs have turned a corner. Now, other programs, both college and professional, are taking notice.
Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has surveyed the landscape and revealed his 2025 team NFL odds for Deion Sanders.

Deion Sanders' Coaching Future as NFL and Top College Programs Eye Prime Time
Sanders had a Hall of Fame football playing career, and in just five seasons as a head coach at the college level, he has turned heads with his quick turnarounds. After guiding Jackson State to a 4-3, truncated Covid season, JSU went 11-2 and 12-1 the next two seasons.
Sanders left there to take over a moribund Colorado program in 2023. He famously talked about getting rid of most of the team and rebuilding immediately. That season, the team went 4-8, and just 1-8 in the Pac-12.
But now we’re into Year 2, and the Buffaloes are 8-2 and on track to play in the Big 12 Championship Game.
Naturally, Sanders’ name is now being brought up at any major spot with an opening. That includes the Dallas Cowboys, who appear poised to move on from Mike McCarthy as the 2024 season is shaping into a disaster.
Deion Sanders' success at Colorado has sparked NFL picks speculation, including for the Dallas Cowboys.
When asked about other spots, Sanders has stated “I like where I am.” While that’s a nice sentiment, it’s also a coy move to not play his hand.
If he wants to stay in the college ranks, the USC Trojans may offer a unique, marquee, glamour position in which Prime Time could thrive. Lincoln Riley could be out after three seasons following a disappointing opening year in the Big Ten. Riley has also been long-rumored to be looking at the NFL as a career destination.
If that doesn’t work out, Florida State has been the most disappointing team in the country. As one time this season, the Seminoles were ranked Top 5. As of Nov. 19, they’re 1-9 and in last place in the ACC. Deion was an All-American cornerback at FSU. A return “home” could be enticing.
The NFL may come calling, too. Sanders’ name has been all around Dallas, but the New York Giants (bright lights, big city), Chicago Bears (budding contender) and the Cleveland Browns (built to win now), who lead The Field, could offer a new challenge for Prime.
