NFL Week 2 proved to be another wild one for DFS players as multiple top performers, including Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson were all forced out of action early in their respective games. There were also a few breakout performances from the likes of Demarcus Robinson, Raheem Mostert and Will Dissly.

If your Week 2 lineup was profitable, kudos to you as it was one of the most challenging weeks to avoid multiple "0's" in a lineup.

Today, we are looking ahead to Week 3 of the NFL season and deciphering which players are must-starts in our lineups.

Week 3 Quarterback Best Bet

Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston ($5,400 on DraftKings)

Matchup: New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Once again, there are several cheap quarterbacks this week that should produce elite numbers. But one player who is a screaming value in Week 3 is Jameis Winston of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While Winston hasn’t produced impressive numbers yet (just 23.28 points through two weeks), he has juicy matchup ahead of him this week.

Coming to town are the New York Giants, who have allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw for 658 yards and five touchdowns in the first two weeks of the season. In both of those weeks, Dak Prescott (Week 1) and Josh Allen (Week 2) finished as top-five quarterbacks in fantasy points. After a 10-day break, Winston couldn’t have a better matchup to get him back on track.

Week 3 Running Back Best Bet

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott ($8,900 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Miami Dolphins at Dallas Cowboys

NFL Week 3 DFS Top Players and Best Team to Play on Sunday 1

If you are going to pay for an elite running back this week, look no further than Dallas' Ezekiel Elliott. Of the top running backs (Saquon Barkley, Alvin Kamara and Christian McCaffrey), he's the only one not playing with a backup quarterback.

It also doesn't hurt that the Cowboys will take on the hapless Dolphins, who have allowed 195 yards rushing per game through the first two weeks of the season.

Elliott got his typical workload in Week 2, carrying the ball 23 times for 111 yards and a score. When his workload is not limited like it was in Week 1, few players are most consistent than Elliott. In Weeks 9-16 of last season, Elliott averaged 28.2 points per game on DraftKings. Every week, he was a lock to reach 100 total yards and see work in the passing game, as well.

And with leading receiver Michael Gallup out due to a knee injury, that should allow Dallas to lean on Elliott even more this week. Look for Elliott to get his usual amount of touches and expect him to reach the end zone at least once in Week 3.

Week 3 Wide Receiver Best Bet

Buccaneers WR Mike Evans ($6,600 on DraftKings)

Matchup: New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Through the first two weeks of the regular season, it’s been Chris Godwin, not Mike Evans, who has led the team in receiving yards and touchdowns. In fact, Evans has been somewhat of a disappointment, tallying just 89 yards on six receptions.

However, his luck could change on Sunday as Tampa Bay will host the New York Giants. Over the last two weeks, the Giants have allowed 32 receptions for 550 yards and three touchdowns to wide receivers alone. That translates to 105.4 fantasy points in just two weeks of action.

It’s certainly possible that both Evans and Godwin have monster days against the Giants. But considering that Evans should be healthier after 10 days off, he is a must-start for me this week against New York. Look for Evans to exceed 100 yards receiving for the first time this season.

Week 3 Tight End Best Bet

Raiders TE Darren Waller ($4,100 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Oakland Raiders at Minnesota Vikings

NFL Week 3 DFS Top Players and Best Team to Play on Sunday 2

Every week, Raiders tight end Darren Waller continues to be a value despite his price tag rising. Through the first two weeks of the season, Waller has 15 targets and has turned them into 13 receptions for 133 yards. While he has yet to find the end zone, he is one of the safest plays at the tight end position due to his weekly volume.

With Tyrell Williams and Josh Jacobs banged up entering Week 3, Waller could be in for even more work against the Minnesota Vikings. Look for the former Georgia Tech receiver to continue to be one of Derek Carr's favorite receivers once again this week.

Week 3 Flex Best Bet

Falcons WR Calvin Ridley ($5,300 on DraftKings)

Matchup: Atlanta Falcons at Indianapolis Colts

After back-to-back productive weeks, it's hard to understand why Falcons receiver Calvin Ridley is so moderately priced in Week 3. During the first two weeks of the season, he's totaled 12 receptions for 169 yards and two touchdowns. And if you watched the team's Sunday night contest against the Eagles, you saw Ridley just miss out on a few deep receptions and touchdowns.

In Week 3, the Falcons have a neutral matchup on the road against the Colts. Ridley could explode for 100 yards and a score again as the Colts do everything in their power to try to slow down Julio Jones. Ridley has become a consistent weapon in the passing game as of late, as he has averaged nearly seven targets per game over the last eight games of his career. At just $5,300, Ridley is a must-start once again this week.
