The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Their biggest need remains at quarterback, especially after being shut out at the position during the first round of free agency. Sam DarnoldJustin FieldsJimmy Garappolo, and even Daniel Jones are off the market.

Whether by happenstance or design, it’s clear the Titans are focused on the quarterback position in this upcoming draft. The team took Will Levis with the 33rd overall pick in 2023. He moved up to the QB1 position by default and injury by Week 10 as a rookie. Under Levis in 2024, the Titans offense crumbled with Levis and Mason Randolph sharing QB duties.

Rookie GM Mike Borgonzi and 2nd-year head coach Brian Callahan have multiple concerns even after free agency to address in April’s NFL Draft. Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has put together hypothetical NFL odds for sports betting on who the Titans will take with pick No. 1.

Potential Titans 1st Pick Player Breakdown

Here’s a look at the top players the Titans could take with the No. 1 overall pick.

Cam Ward, QB, Miami ( -175)

Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward has all the tools of a modern-day NFL passer. He is the best, safest pick for a first-year GM. Ward posted stellar numbers for the Miami Hurricanes this past season after transferring from Washington State. He finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting but won the Davey O’Brien Trophy as the nation’s top QB. He set a Miami record with 39 passing TDs. That’s no small feat given the Canes’ illustrious history at the QB position. He also graded out with the No. 1 score at the combine among all quarterbacks, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.

Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn St.  (+180)

Penn State’s Abdul Carter is seen as the closest thing to a sure thing of any defensive player in this draft. He graded as an “Elite” prospect and a “Pro Bowl Talent” by NFL Next Gen Stats at the combine. And easily topped the competition as his position. Carter was a menace at Penn State. He led all FBS teams with 23.5 tackles-for-loss. His 12 sacks ranked 7th. And this was against some monster offensive lines in the Big Ten. He would be a no-brainer at No. 1 for any team settled at the QB positions. But this draft is deep in defensive linemen. And not so much as QB. A trade out of the No. 1 position is unlikely, especially given what happened or didn’t happen in free agency.

Travis Hunter, WR/CB Colorado (+900)

If only Will Levis or Mason Randolph would have worked out at QB? If only the Titans were able to land a reliable, legitimate QB in free agency? Travis Hunter was a two-way standout for Deion Sanders at Colorado. He’s seen more as a CB than a wideout in the NFL. But Hunter has the “it” factor to potentially be a star at either spot. He graded out as a “Year 1 Starter” and an “Elite” talent by Next Gen Stats at the combine.

Shedeur Sanders, QB Colorado (+2000)

Sheduer Sanders is seen as the second-best QB in this draft. Ward is a much simpler, and better, choice.
