For only the second time over the past decade, Nolan Arenado was not an All-Star. Now the nine-time Gold Glove third baseman believes a change of scenery could be the trick to a rebound.

Arenado has revealed he is open to trading off the St. Louis Cardinals for the 2025 season. Not only that, he’ll change positions to make it work out.

Bookies.com veteran oddsmaker Adam Thompson has revealed his 2025 MLB odds for the eight-time All-Star.

Possible 2025 Destinations

By many accounts, the 33-year-old Arenado had his worst full season. He managed just 16 home runs and 71 RBIs – that’s ten homers and 22 RBIs fewer than his second-worst season since 2014.

Arenado’s contract pays him $21 million in 2025, $16 million in ‘26 and $15 in ‘27. That isn’t an overwhelming amount for a top-tier fielder and someone who believes he can re-find the form that made him finish eighth or better for NL MVP honors in six different seasons.

Arenado has a no-trade clause, but has mentioned six teams he’d be open to going: the Dodgers, Padres, Angels, Phillies, Mets and Red Sox

Of those six teams, the Angels and Phillies could be on an off-season hunt to upgrade at third, given they don’t hold onto their 3Bs of last season.

The Yankees and Astros weren’t on Arenado’s list, but he may be on theirs, and could be persuaded to move to the Bronx or Space City for another run at a World Series.

The Field includes teams that could use an upgrade at third base but Arenado hasn’t green-lighted or they don’t have the funds or title implications needed, including the Toronto Blue Jays, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals.
